A PARTIAL AND EXPERIMENTAL iOS 15 jailbreak has been released for the following devices:

iPhone 6S
iPhone 6S+
iPhone 7
iPhone 7+
iPhone 8
iPhone 8+
iPhone X
iPhone SE
iPod Touch 7

PLEASE READ BELOW BEFORE DOING ANYTHING.

What is this? Palera1n is a TETHERED iOS 15.0 - 15.3.1 jailbreak for the devices mentioned above (more checkm8 compatible device support coming in the future).

What does tethered mean? You will need to plug in your phone to your computer and run the program every time you want to turn on or reboot your phone.

Some things to note:

This is a checkm8 based jailbreak so all passcode related things like checkra1n apply for A10+
It works on iOS betas between the listed firmwares
Trollstore will not work while the jailbreak is active
Tweaks that inject into apps such Discord/Whatsapp/YouTube don’t work

As far as package managers go, it comes with Sileo and uses substitute.

As noted, this is an experimental jailbreak so use at your own risk.

Recap from today's Fugu15 Demo @everyone

Supports A12 and up out of the box but other devices can be added
Supports up to iOS 15.4.1 (or iOS 15.5 beta 4)
Uses the Procursus bootstrap and installs Sileo as the default package manager
Semi-untethered
No tweak injection library at the moment due to being rootless (aka Tweaks will NOT work right now)
No official ETA given but likely within a few days

For those of you looking to upgrade via futurerestore to a compatible iOS version, I highly suggest waiting until this is out and in a usable state for end users.

+16 kernel bugs I reported to Apple have been fixed in iOS 16/16.1. I'll give a talk on how I chained some bugs to achieve kernel r/w at #POC2022 next month, and the kernel exploit for iOS 15 will be released along with a some other high impact vulns after the conference.

Good morning @everyone,

Many of you may have heard that the Xina jailbreak was released in a beta capacity. This announcement is here to clear up some stuff.

A user added to the internal beta testing group leaked the latest IPA to his friends and it spread from there. Xina (the developer) decided at that point to make it a public beta test due to too many people having the IPA already.

Now, there are some important things to note. Sileo and Zebra currently do not work with logging into repos (both teams are aware of this and are looking into it) so you will NOT be able to download your paid tweaks from repos like Havoc and Chariz until this is resolved. Additionally, many free tweaks may not work right away due to this being a rootless jailbreak.

Again, this jailbreak is currently in beta which means there are still bugs. Xina has been actively working on fixing them so please be patient and give it time. We personally do not recommend using this jailbreak until its officially released and out of beta.

Now with that being said, here is some info about the jailbreak:

@everyone Palera1n has been updated with iOS 16 support for A11 devices and lower!

On iOS 16, the device must have never had a passcode set since restoring (only on A10+, A9 is not affected), and dev mode must be enabled. If you enabled a passcode, you must erase the device (with iTunes or in the settings app). You may restore a backup.

Please note that tweaks will likely need to be updated to work on iOS 16 so please be patient

I should mention this works up to the latest 16.2 RC and fixes the home button issue

Futurerestore is currently dysfunctional when executing a restore to a version of iOS 16 that is not the latest available version.
Provided the issue with Futurerestore is resolved, iOS 16 SEP and BB remains incompatible with any versions lower than 16.0 which will result in activation failures and or total bootloops/restore failures.
Any attempts in this current dysfunctional state WILL result in restore failures, please do not attempt unless you know what you’re doing until further notice. You will have to restore to latest in iTunes provided you attempt and you will most likely lose any/all data that is on the device.

To summarise, please do not attempt to use Futurerestore until further notice.

An exploit was recently released for the following iOS/iPadOS versions:
16.0 - 16.5
15.0 - 15.7.6
16.6 beta 1

While this isn’t a jailbreak itself, this can be used for a jailbreak for A11 and earlier devices.
A12 and later devices will need a PPL Bypass (another exploit) before this can potentially be used.

**Note that it may take a LONG TIME before we get a PPL bypass (and we may never get one!) **

Hey @everyone,

I have some bad news for the jailbreak community… Apple has hired Linus Henze. For those who don’t know Linus, they are responsible for the Fugu jailbreaks and the underlying vulnerabilities used in Dopamine and TrollStore. Linus was also responsible for finding a new PPL bypass that could have led to the creation of an A12+ jailbreak for iOS 16.6.1 but due to their new employment, we will likely not see a PoC (proof of concept) for it.

The jailbreak community has faced many challenges over its 17-year history, and this is just another bump in the road. We've always found ways to adapt and overcome.

That being said, I would like to congratulate Linus on the new job and wish them the best of luck!

@everyone Every iOS version from 1.0 - 15.4.1 now has a jailbreak for their respective devices.

The only thing missing was the iPad 2 on iOS 4.3-4.3.2, 4.3.4/4.3.5 but that now has a jailbreak!
