I just wanted to vent and say the primary reason I started with apple so long ago was because they were the pretty much one of if not the first to truly offer a widely available touchscreen phone + ipod/mp3 player with mass storage + internet + camera all in one device. Then they launched the app store and pretty much were the top tier smartphone provider for many years. Highly worth mentioning that all my music was in my itunes library from years of having ipods, and the seemless integration with iphone sealed the deal, and was worth it for years.

I am writing this now on 16.5.1 nathanlr 14pro, and while most of my apps and browsing still work, my banking (pnc) and pharmacy (cvs) apps are now no longer working on my device (using safari homepage icons as app replacements is fine for now) and I expect more to follow over the next few months. Also, microsoft updated their systems or something and older ios such as mine are no longer able to stay signed into stock mail app.

While I used to love iphone for reasons mentioned above, almost every smartphone these days has those capabilities, and I rarely use my itunes library these days to sync music, photos, or anything really.

When it’s all said and done, I don’t really feel that I will ever go back to stock ios, so if a jailbreak isn’t available once I am really forced to upgrade when even browsing becomes unusable, I will be leaving the brand. Stock ios is enshittified to the max these days, and I don’t need all that surveillance on my device some are trying to pass off as security.

Oh, and imessage blue as a status symbol is just plain ridiculous these days, I wont be bothered by a color, green (off device, on device, wherever it is found) is my favorite color anyway lol

So yehh, that’s all, just wanted to vent it/write it out and release it into the ether so it’s outta my head.
