On macOS, some older Elgato capture devices may not be supported or require workarounds to use with OBS Studio:

  • Game Capture HD and HD60 are not compatible with Apple Silicon-based Macs. On Intel-based Macs, use the Elgato Game Capture app in full screen, then capture it with a macOS Screen Capture/Window Capture source
  • HD 60S is not compatible with Apple Silicon-based Macs. On Intel-based Macs, use the OBS Link app
  • HD 60S+, HD 60X, Cam Link are compatible with all Macs and can be captured with a Video Capture source. Make sure you are using a USB 3-compliant USB cable or adapter, connected directly to your Mac if possible

Hey all,

I've been struggling to solve this for a long time. Basically, I have a capture card I use through OBS and I want to stream that through a Discord screen share. I can always get the video to share through the OBS window, but never the audio. I want to be able to share the audio/video and still talk over it with my mic.

It's only OBS too, I can share other applications with both video and audio. If it helps, here's all the stuff I've looked into:

• Installed Discord's audio share plugin
• Updated macOS/Discord/OBS
• Tried all options for audio source in Advanced Audio Settings for monitor
• Tried to make an aggregate audio device, merging my microphone and capture audio (creates nasty echo)
• Contacted Discord support (they just ask me to uninstall/reinstall the apps and contact OBS support)
• Tested multiple other applications through Discord screen share to replicate issue (OBS is the only app that can't share audio)

Ok so i have a big issue with OBS right now. The issue I am having is my Elgato 4K X isn't being shown anymore by OBS. The Elgato recently received a update for MacOS to do 10gbps on the Mac Studio. I have no video feed through OBS but thankfully it is showing on my second monitor. Also I can no longer select my caputre to show in OBS. That in turn has sent my webcam into a fritz. I use my iphone as the webcam. If I have it unplugged it shows a smaller selectable area in OBS but no video but if I plug it in it shows what seems to be an infinite screen that shows random colors. I have been using the 4K X perfectly since day 1 it came out this year. OBS has been working fine till about an hour ago and after uninstalling and reinstalling a few times now I still have these issues. I also cannot add any new sources to try to create a new one for my elgato. Any help would be great but I know no one uses Macs like this.

Hey, could someone help me with an issue I have? Unsure if it’s my OBS or my Elgato HD60 X the problem, after hours of setting it up my elgato and OBS, when I started streaming my stream would stutter and freeze completely. I have tried so many different solutions in order to fix the issue but yet with no success. I tried changing my advance setting on OBS from CPU speed to video bitrate and many more but the stream still has the same issues. Only difference I noticed on my laptop the OBS works decently normally only sometimes does it stutter a little but nothing to be concerned about while on twitch the stream freeze completely or moves like an old lady that’s 1 HP. If anyone can help me with fixing this? Please 😔

Hey, quick thanks for posting this!

I just tried it with a friend, and we have the same problem. He can hear the game audio, but it causes a side effect of garbling my mic and causing an echo the others can hear. I just cannot get clean audio to come through. He describes it as "I hear the game audio for a second, then I hear you all garbled and myself in the mic echoing"

I set only my microphone and Elgato capture card sources as Monitor, but it cannot get a clean sound for those two sources

A crash log is required to investigate the cause of your issue. Please upload the most recent crash log.

  1. Open Console.app (Located in /Applications/Utilities).

Thanks again

I did check very careful during and after the test, and I made sure the only 2 possible sources of audio were the two monitors I set myself. I even really specifically named them so I know what sources refer to exactly what. "Elgato Audio" is the audio output of my capture card. "Microphone" is obviously my microphone.

My monitoring device is set to Blackhole 2ch as well, and the echoing/garbling issue is there when I switch Discord's audio to Blackhole 2ch.

I really can't fathom what other sources it could be re-sourcing the audio out of Discord back into Discord. It's just a capture card's audio source, and a microphone.

I should also add that I do use OBS to just regularly stream to Twitch too. These two sources provide no issues streaming to Twitch, with perfect game audio and microphone too. This tells me the two sources themselves are providing clean audio.

I only have one macOS screen capture source too, it's for a music player I use sometimes, but it's inactive, not currently connected to any app/window, and not even set to monitor. I just cannot see any single source where the audio is being doubled back in.

forest axle
# valid glacier Thanks again I did check very careful during and after the test, and I made sur...

can you show the source properties for the microphone audio source?

i'm beginning to wonder if the issue could be either 1. built-in macOS voice isolation effects on the blackhole input, which can sound 'garbled' or 2. an issue with the listener's setup, if they are hearing themselves. it's a pain but it may be worth double checking exactly what's going on by hopping in the same call with yourself on your phone on another account and seeing what exactly is coming through

#

you can check if the issue is number 1 by having blackhole active as an input in the call, then scanning the top menu bar for the green, purple, or orange capture indicator, then checking the "mic mode" (you may need to toggle effects on and off to make sure they're really off)

valid glacier
forest axle
valid glacier
forest axle
#

yes, downmixing isn't relevant for simple mono/stereo inputs like mics

valid glacier
#

👍 I'll give it a quick whirl and check the mic mode and report back, cheers

valid glacier
forest axle
#

how are you verifying that / how are you listening to yourself?

valid glacier
#

On a separate iPad in a DM with my burner/tester account

#

Oh also, I don't think it's my friends' audio settings either, we have standard calls without screen share all the time, no issues with sound when just the mic is the input source. It's only when OBS share and something like Blackhole or Loopback becomes involved that it has that effect on the audio.

forest axle
#

well let's just simplify this as much as we can

#

if you're hearing a persistent echo with a source feeding back on itself, it should be one of those two sources in OBS

#

and you should be able to see its activity on the meters when it is feeding back

#

can you tell which one it is?

valid glacier
#

The closest thing I can see to anything on the meter is a little extra kick on the mic

#

I tried disabling my filters for the mic in OBS too, I had a Noise Gate and Noise Suppression on, doesn't change anything in this context

To help resolve your issue, we need to view a log file from a fresh launch of OBS Studio containing an output session. Follow these instructions to upload a clean log file:

  1. Restart OBS Studio first!
  2. Start your stream/recording replicating any issues (meaning having any games/apps open and captured, etc.)
  3. Stop your stream/recording after 30 seconds or after the issue has occurred
  4. Click the Help menu → Log Files → Upload Current Log File
  5. Paste the URL into this Discord channel
valid glacier
#

I have to say though: the meter has the tiniest bit of extra kick and I think it's just re-hearing a tiny bit back into my mic from my TV speakers or something. I'm talking like 2-3 dB max of kick. It's nothing like the bad echo I'm hearing live.

The echo/garble in call, you say something, it echoes once, then it garbles, then it makes a massive screeching noise while echoing more. It's a good like 15-20 dB loud spikes.

velvet umbra
forest axle
valid glacier
# forest axle then it sounds like something else on your system is sending audio into blackhol...

I don't even begin to know what other audio could be fed in, that's my only source of audio output
Unfortunately Blackhole doesn't have an interface or anything to check. Anything I can check?

Like I mentioned, that tiny kick I think is just my mic re-picking up sound from the TV behind more or something, absolutely miniscule kick of like 2-3 dB. The actual garble/echo is horrible screeching in a tunnel level, like 20 dB spiking

forest axle
#

just for clarity, what meter are you seeing those larger spikes on?

valid glacier
#

I'm not

#

Those large spikes don't show up at all

forest axle
#

ok so you're just estimating

#

that's fine, just checking

valid glacier
#

Yup yup 👍

#

If it helps, I jerry rigged a short recording of the noise it makes

forest axle
#

i don't know what else would be sending audio to blackhole. you should obviously check our system-wide output in the menu bar to make sure it's what it should be and not blackhole

valid glacier
#

(Headphone warning don't have it pumped)

forest axle
#

i would maybe uninstall other virtual audio drivers like loopback to make sure they aren't responsible

valid glacier
#

I checked the system-wide audio, as well as the live meter in the macOS Sound section of the settings. Blackhole doesn't have any big spikes there, the meter pulses along with the game audio normally and the microphone if I talk

I also uninstalled Loopback and it still makes the noises on calls

#

I dunno if it helps to re-mention, but I've been trying to do this share thing for sending gameplay and commentary to live events and stuff. This has endless problems so I tried using other software like OpenEmu and just straight up game apps to play games and it shares the audio and mic no problem, even without Blackhole.

It literally gets filtered through OBS and all of it turns into mush in a loud tunnel. I do need this to work overall because my capture card connects to games I can't access on my Mac at all

I recently updated to version 30.1.2 and have a several issues:

  1. Everytime I launch OBS, my webcam source is vertically flipped.
  2. When I click navigation tabs (file, edit, view, etc) the dropdown menu doesn't appear.
  3. When I close out the window I get a "OBS Studio quit unexpectedly" dialog box. It didn't quit unexpectedly; I intentionally closed the program.
  4. I saw in a forum that it might be a specific plug-in, so I went to delete that and couldn't even find the plug-ins folder. Macintosh HD>Library>Application Support and then a dead end. There's no obs-studio folder, and I searched in Finder and cannot even find either the obs-studio folder or its plugins sub-folder.

If you are having problems with playing content created by OBS Studio in Movies & TV or QuickTime Player, this is because the media player does not have proper format support. This causes missing video, audio, or for the file to not open at all.

We recommend VLC Media Player for better, accurate format support. Like OBS Studio, VLC Media Player is a free and open source project.

Sorry I'm late, had something come up

I'm not sure what to say here, my only guess is I set it up wrong somehow? I clicked "Start Virtual Camera", started a test video call, and set the camera to the OBS Virtual Camera. The echo happened exactly the same.

I also tried it with headphones on, and it was still going on. I don't know what to say, it's not like this makes sense to me either or I feel like I'd be able to look for more logical answers myself. The basic voice echo I can reduce for sure by wearing headphones, but that horrendous screeching noise sounds like it's coming from the game audio itself. Like some game music starts playing, then it sounds like that audio is thrown into a massive garbler in an echochamber.

i don't know what specific advice to give you at this point, since i've pursued every known potential source of audio feedback with you already, and you've indicated in each case that it is not the actual source. particularly your report that the feedback doesn't occur in a normal voice call, but only once you turn on the virtual camera or screen sharing, would lead me to believe that something else entirely is going on your machine that i would not know how to debug. in any case, it seems to not be an OBS issue, given that you've said there isn't any activity in your audio mixer in OBS when you're hearing feedback. my only advice is really to just take your entire setup apart, check if there are any other programs on your computer that might be interfering with this process, and just generally simplify as much as you can until you can isolate what the issue is

Hi, I use the mac mini (late 2020, 16gb ram and m1) as a streaming pc, Without streaming or recording the OBS uses between 40% to 70% of cpu. Is there any guide on how to set this up correctly? # gilded temple I have a question about recording gameplay using shaders. What would be optimal ...

for a CRT shader, some odd artifacts when scaling are inevitable because of the way that CRT shaders subdivide the input pixels into individual pixels for different phosphors. you should play with the downscale filters for your specific source, bilinear will certainly have fewer artifacts than nearest, for example. you may end up needing to pick a specific scaling factor for the source that minimizes artifacts, which might be an integer, i.e. 1/2, 1/4, etc.

Hey OBS Discord!

I just recently purchased an Elgato Game Capture Neo to replace my HD60 that stopped working. I record on many devices, but I’m trying to set it up for my Xbox Series X, connected to Macbook Pro 2019. Right out of the box, I’m getting a black screen in OBS. Passthrough works fine, as I can see and play the Xbox on my TV. All HDMI ports are properly connected. I’ve tried different USB connections from GCNeo -> Mac, including a USB hub and a USB-to-USBc converter (the USB connection it came with out of the box is USBc-USB so I need a converter of some sort). I’ve been through every troubleshooting guide I can find online. OBS has permission to Screen & Audio Record in System Settings. I’ve properly added Game Capture Neo as a source in OBS. Nothing is working, and I’m stuck feeling like I wasted $120 to be right where I was with the non-functional HD60.

Hoping there’s a simple solution. :/

#

As a small sidenote, I’ve added multiple sources in the process of trying to solve this issue, and every time I try to delete one to keep the interface clear, OBS crashes. When I launch it again, the sources are still there. This happens EVERY TIME. So I’m just stuck with a bunch of empty, useless sources forever and have to be very wary about creating new ones? Hoping this bug has a fix as well.

For high-quality, no fuss recordings on macOS:

Apple Silicon Macs: use the recording quality presets in Simple Mode:

  1. In OBS Settings → Output, set the Output Mode to Simple
  2. In the Recording section, choose Indistinguishable Quality as the Recording Quality
  3. Set your Video Encoder to "Hardware, H.264" (more compatible) or "Hardware, HEVC" (smaller file size).

Hello, here's my problem.

I would like to send the audio from OBS to another application (in this case, Discord). After some research, I found the Blackhole software where, on their Github, they indicate that to route audio from one app to another, you simply need to select the ‘Blackhole’ output on the source and the ‘Blackhole’ input on the destination app.

So, in my OBS audio settings, I've selected ‘Blackhole’ for the monitor output and I've selected ‘Blackhole’ for my Discord input but nothing happens.

Can you shed some light on this?

Reposting this:

Has anyone ever had an issue when using window capture where it automatically switches between desktops???

This started happening within the last month. I typically have about 5-10 windows open at the same time and I used to be able to use my stream deck to switch between sources. IT still allows me to switch between sources, although now the screen that I have all of the windows open on will automatically switch back to desktop 1 when ever I swipe over to another screen

Hi All, when we install OBS on a Mac OBS crashes and. when we try to reopen it, it asks us to either reopen normally or in safe mode. and then does not open. We had stream deck software open. once closing stream deck software, it opened. Do we need stream deck stopped before starting OBS on the Mac?

if you have a more clear set of steps to explain and reproduce the issue, that might help. i can't tell if the stream deck is required, for example, or what precisely is being switched with the steam deck, or if the desktop is switching to focus that window, or if it occurs without multiple desktop spaces. it's just a very convoluted issue description at the moment

Welcome to the OBS community support channel. If you have a question, go ahead and ask it, and if someone is available to help they'll respond. Try to be detailed, and provide a log if you are having issues with streaming/recording (Help -> Log Files -> Upload Current Log). Please be patient if someone doesn't respond right away!

there's a few obvious issues here; you will need to lower your canvas size to at least 1920x1080 (it's currently 1920x1820), but more likely 1280x720 will be better

that's fine

#

frankly, you probably aren't going to be able to get much better performance than this with this computer

#

it might be usable at 720p, you'll have to test

lowering the canvas to 720p was definitely an improvement compared to what you had before

when you changed the canvas to 1280x720

#

that helps

#

there isn't much left you can change

#

changing that won't improve your performance

#

you could stream at 480p by changing the canvas to 854x480

but that might be too low resolution for your viewers

you could also remove your browser sources, but you probably want those

you'll need to use your display capture source. you could try adding a window capture and capture your browser, but this might cause lag again

Hi, so I've been using OBS to record interview segments on Discord calls for a video I'm working on. There have been now 2 instances where I finish recording, check the file and notice nothing out of the ordinary, but when I check back at a later date, the audio from Discord is gone and only the audio from my mic is there

#

These are the settings I had at the time

#

I've since removed the extra stuff like the "macOS Screen Capture" and "Browser," but it seems like it should be working to me

#

The first time it happened, I just assumed that it was an error on my end or a weird glitch that I didn't notice

#

But now that it's happened twice, I'm fairly certain that it's more than just that

#

(both instances, I tested the display capture on a YouTube video beforehand, and everything worked perfectly fine)

#

The main things I would like to know are:

  • Is there any way to avoid this and
#
  • Is there any way to recover the audio that somehow disappeared

There's a bug in recent versions of macOS that causes screen capture to slow down the computer

#

You might be getting hit by that

But also

fading hareBOT

For high-quality, no fuss recordings, use the recording quality presets in Simple Mode:

  1. In OBS Settings → Output, set the Output Mode to Simple

  3. Set your Video Encoder to a hardware encoder, if available

There was a plugin installed on the camera. I uninstalled OBS, uninstalled the plugin, and the camera does not work. The OBS camera is displayed everywhere instead of the standard Mac camera
The /Library/CoreMediaIO/Plug-Ins/DAL folder is empty.
All OBS folders are deleted. I tried installing the OBS and completely uninstalling it again, it didn't help.

Used the commands:
sudo rm -rf /Library/CoreMediaIO/Plug-Ins/DAL/obs-mac-virtualcam.plugin
sudo rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/obs-studio/plugins/obs-mac-virtualcam
Also didn't help

neon lily
#

The newer virtual camera requires uninstalling OBS Studio

#

To do that, it needs to be sent to the Trash, then the Trash must be emptied

#

However, you should be able to select which camera you want to use in your web browser

#

That's before clicking Test Webcam on that website

What sites don't allow you to select?

Ah hmm, I can't test that one

tidal plank

Ran into this yesterday, still couldn't get the camera to turn on. Is there any way to delete the OBS virtual camera if it is already deleted everywhere? In google chrome you can specify the camera for the browser in the settings, there is no setting in safari

neon lily
#

Like I said, the way to delete the virtual camera is to send OBS Studio to the trash

#

What version of macOS and OBS are we talking?

tidal plank
#

macos sonoma 14.5. OBS was removed a long time ago. Installed version 30+, but previously there was another version that required the plugin to be installed

neon lily
#

Yeah, but that older version of the virtual camera doesn't run on Sonoma to start with

tidal plank
#

And it is not deleted

neon lily
#

Even if the older DAL plugin weren't deleted, it doesn't run on Sonoma like I said so it's not the cause of the issue. It has to be the newer camera, which is uninstalled by properly uninstalling OBS Studio.

#

But you say, you reinstalled OBS today, right? To try uninstalling it again

tidal plank
#

Yesterday at least 3 times reinstalled OBS and cleaned all folders in Macos

neon lily
#

And you ran OBS at least once, each time?

#

And then disposed of it by dragging from the Application folder to the Trash, then emptying the Trash?

That's right. I even added a camera scene and it worked in OBS. Then uninstalled the OBS via AppCleaner and cleaned out the trash

as was said a couple of times, to uninstall the extension you need to drag OBS to the trash. not use appcleaner, not clean the trash afterward, but empty the trash and then drag OBS.app to the trash.

if you have in fact done that and the system extension remains, go ahead and:

  1. open Terminal.app (located in /Applications/Utilities)
  2. paste in the following command and hit enter: systemextensionsctl list
  3. share the entire output of that command in this channel with a screenshot or copy-paste

  • (a) click on OK/Allow for the microphone and camera prompts

Hello everyone, good afternoon, I'm facing a problem here in OBS for Mac, in the silicon version, I'm recording some video editing classes, I use a template where I record the screen and my camera at the same time, but in different situations the screen recording would freeze and I would have to stop the recording, close the program and start recording, this also happened with the screen recording audio, which at random moments would stop working.

I also tested it on another computer, which has Windows 10, and my camera was glitching, and I still don't understand why, I wanted to know if anyone has any idea how to solve these problems that are happening...
Furthermore, I'm having problems with my obs about marking a place to save the recorded video, I try to save it on my SSD and it says that the storage is full but it's not, I can only save it on its internal storage...

you have to set all the invalid parameters marked in red to valid values before the fps field will populate. you'll have to scroll down to locate all of them

forest axle
#

can you show a screenshot with the FPS options it's showing you, with all of the parameters visible?

#

just showing the entire source properties window, with everything you have set

#

if you change the input format to yuv420, do the available fps values change?

#

now if you switch it to simple fps instead of rational fps, what fps options are shown

#

assuming your switch is connected correctly, i don't know why it would be showing a black screen at that point either, may just be an issue with the card

#

probably good to try disconnecting and reconnecting it, etc

#

that shouldn't do anything; it's a capture card issue

#

i'd disconnect and reconnect your switch from the capture card as well...you may also need to fiddle with those parameters

#

setting values like you are in that source properties window changes the configuration of the card itself, and if the card doesn't work well it might get confused

forest axle
#

sorry, been in and out. another thing we should probably check is whether your card is connected via USB3 or not

#

to do that:

  1. open Terminal.app (located in /Applications/Utilities)
  2. type in the following and hit enter:
    system_profiler SPThunderboltDataType SPUSBDataType
  3. copy-paste the whole output from that command into here
forest axle
#

that's fine, i can see the issue

#

the capture card isn't connected with a cable that supports usb 3

#

you need a usb 3 connection for video capture

#

i'm not sure what cable you're using to connect it to your machine, or if there are any hubs or adapters in between, but everything has to be usb 3-capable

#

usb-c is just the physical connector

#

it's not about the HDMI cable, it's about the USB cable between the card and your computer

#

usb 3 refers to the speeds the cable is capable of carrying rather than the connector

#

usb 2 is up to 480 mb/s, while usb 3 is 5 gb/s or greater

#

again, you need to connect the card to your machine with a usb 3 cable

#

if you don't have one, you will need to buy one

#

no, the HDMI cable is not relevant, it's fine

#

the cable between the capture card and your computer is what is relevant

#

yes

#

if you have another cable around you can try it; the point is that cable has to support usb 3

#

sometimes there's an "SS" symbol on the cable, but not always; you'll have to just try them to know for sure, or purchase one that explicitly says it supports usb 3 or greater

#

if the entire connection between the card and your device supports USB 3, including any adapter or hub, then yes

#

no problem, best of luck!

Currently a church is using this camera with Wirecast and I am moving them over to OBS as SermonAudio highly recommends it. However, I think Wirecast can switch the audio and make that camera move for a second scene. The camera and audio are separate devices. Will OBS do this, and if so, how do I make it do this? Is there a way to setup scenes, like scene 1 is to move the camera and use MIC 1 and then switch to scene 2 and moves the camera again and uses MIC 2?

i want them separate

#

okay then

#

thank you

#

maybe get vlc then

forest axle
#

VLC will probably do the same thing

#

when there are multiple audio tracks on a video, it typically makes sense that you'd only want one playing back at once, i.e. for multiple languages in a show or movie or something

vlc works!

If you're using OBS Studio 27+ on Windows 10 1809 or earlier, your system must be configured to run OBS on a specific GPU, depending on the type of capture you are trying to do.

Click here for instructions on how to configure your system.

I dont really update my applications because i usually dislike new updates, but i was actually forced to to fix some audio errors with OBS. now i have a 'desktop audio' source, and the only way I can play audio to my stream is using this connection to a voice changer output which makes it so I cant hear it. is there any way to fix this so I can hear it, but it also goes to my stream? also, for some reason my window capture ALSO does not display what Im capturing. just the other day, everything was working fine and audio was picked up simply by using the window capture.

forest axle
#

could you type the same command you did before into terminal and share the results?

#

i'll re-copy it

#
  1. open Terminal.app (located in /Applications/Utilities)
  2. type in the following and hit enter:
    system_profiler SPThunderboltDataType SPUSBDataType
  3. copy-paste the whole output from that command into here
#

looks like your computer isn't seeing your capture card at all, at the moment

#

is the capture card plugged in?

#

hmm, that looks like it's seeing a usb hub, but not a device connected to that hub

#

the hub is at least connected via usb 3

#

so if you connect your card to that hub with a usb 3 cable, it should be visible

#

what is connected to your computer? you can take a picture or something

#

your computer is showing that a usb3 hub is connected, rather than the capture card

#

i would need to see a picture of what's physically connected to your machine to know any further what's going on

#

since the output of that command isn't showing a card connected

#

yeah that's fine, you can just post when you do, i will check back

#

this channel isn't usually too fast-paced

forest axle
forest axle
#

alright yeah, that dock is what i meant when i was saying hub

#

hmm. it looks like the dock does not get along with your card unfortunately 😦

#

you are now discovering the joys of USB and macs

#

i'm pretty surprised that that card doesn't work if it's plugged directly into your mac

#

i.e. without the dock

#

the dock may work with one device, but may not be compatible with others

#

while the card might get along with one dock/adapter/hub, but not others

#

a lot of people go with devices from elgato and avermedia because they are relatively easy to use and generally work well enough with macOS

#

though they sometimes do need adapters still, and not all adapters will work

#

it looks like that card is actually designed to work with USB 2.0, which is very weird because when it was connected it advertised itself as USB 3.0

#

so i really don't know what my advice is 😅 i would probably return the card because it looks fairly crappy and clearly isn't working

#

but i'd also just beware that that adapter may also not work if you acquire a new card

#

most cards should allow you to use your own cable, though, which means you won't be tied to that adapter

#

so i'd recommend getting a card that doesn't have the cable physically attached to it

#

no problem. i'm sorry it's a frustrating journey!

for window capture, you can use macOS screen capture instead of window capture

for the audio issue, i'm not sure i precisely understand it; #audio-support may be of greater help

To help resolve your issue, we need to view a log file. Follow these instructions to upload your current log file:

  1. In OBS Studio, click the Help menu → Log Files → Upload Current Log File
  2. Click the Copy URL button
  3. Paste the URL into this Discord channel

to resolve that:

  1. open terminal.app (located in /Applications/Utilities)
  2. copy-paste the following command and hit enter: sudo killall replayd

you may need to type your password after hitting enter

hello, if somebody can help me I have a windows 11 computer and would like to screen share my iphone but it wont recognize in the obs application as a device, is there a way for me to do it?

forest axle
# mystic thistle

let's try killing replayd this way:

  1. open activity monitor (also in /applications/utilities)
  2. in activity monitor, in the top right, search for "replayd" and then select it
  3. hit the X icon along the top bar and force quit it
mystic thistle
#

i dont have something called replayd on my computer?

#

nothing is sowing up when i search

forest axle
#

can you show a screenshot?

mystic thistle

it won't appear under the energy tab, it would need to be cpu or memory

For high-quality, no fuss recordings on macOS:

Apple Silicon Macs: use the recording quality presets in Simple Mode:

  1. In OBS Settings → Output, set the Output Mode to Simple
  2. In the Recording section, choose Indistinguishable Quality as the Recording Quality
  3. Set your Video Encoder to "Hardware, H.264" (more compatible) or "Hardware, HEVC" (smaller file size).

Intel Macs: use these recommended recording settings. Note: you only use these settings for recording, not streaming.
