Community Rules
OBS is a free application made by volunteers, and support is also provided for free by community volunteers in their spare time. When participating in this server, please remember the below rules.
A more robust overview of these rules are located in the OBS Project Code of Conduct.
Summary
[1] Act respectfully towards support volunteers and be patient when receiving help or support.
[2] Treat other users kindly when participating in the discussion channels. Any form of hateful language or bigotry towards, race, sex, religion, orientation, or anything else will not be tolerated.
[3] No advertising or soliciting of your own or others social media, content, communities or otherwise except when explicitly relevant to a discussion or question, either in chat or your username. This also includes Discord server links.
[4] Please make sure to stay on topic in each channel. Avoid cluttering up the support channels when people are seeking assistance and do not give advice on topics or features you are not qualified to help with.
[5] No unsolicited memes, spamming (including emoji), or shit-posting in any channel, including the community chat channels. Memes that are posted on-topic as part of a discussion are fine.
[6] Do not send unsolicited friend requests or messages to server admins, moderators or support volunteers. This includes asking for help privately. Use the support channel specific to your operating system.
[7] Do not ping random server members or staff members that are not already helping you. Repeated attempts may be considered spam/harassment.
[8] No inappropriate, deceptive, or difficult-to-type nicknames. We reserve the right to change people's nicknames if we judge that they degrade the chat experience for users or support volunteers.
If you feel that someone is in violation of our community rules, you can ping the <@&715347355565817879> role.
Only use this when you need a moderator for someone breaking the rules listed above that requires immediate attention, and it appears no moderators or support helpers are around.
Try to avoid pings for simple things like an advertisement link, but feel free to use the !ad command to suggest they remove it themselves. The ping should not be used if someone says a bad word or is being rude, only if there is something that requires immediate action that is causing a disruption in the server.
Abuse of the ping falls under Rule [6] as listed above, and any attempts to abuse/misuse this ping will result in a warning.
