Okay, I'm going to tell you about the problem I'm having. I think it's because I haven't used the plugin much, since I downloaded it just a few hours ago. I downloaded it so that when the stream is interrupted due to internet problems, it would automatically play a scene and return to scene 1 upon reconnection. I did it wrong, because when the internet disconnects, it doesn't change scenes; it only changes when I manually close the stream. I hope you can help me. I've attached images.

Is there a plugin to change the way captures work? I want to be able to save screenshots as "capture.png" but save replay buffer clips as dates & times

Screenshot-filter plugin lets you set a static output name iirc (although I'm not sure whether it can be set up to capture the whole output or only specific scenes or sources), or capture the event of the screenshot and rename the capture, advanced scene switcher would be the best for that approach

That's up to the source app, this is about using Spout2 sender apps under Proton on Linux to send video to native OBS

any plugin solve this issue: I am recording replay buffers from 4 different cameras in OBS for live cricket streaming.
For example, I have a 30-second replay buffer, and I want the replay to play like this:

0–10 seconds: Camera 1

11–18 seconds: Camera 2

19–25 seconds: Camera 3

Last 5 seconds: Camera 4

This replay sequence should be automatic and optimized for cricket live streaming (ball delivery angle, batsman angle, follow cam, etc.).

My questions are:

Is it possible to do this using any OBS replay plugin?

Does the existing Replay Buffer source have any hidden or advanced settings for timed multi-camera switching?

Is there any multicam replay screen or controller where all cameras are running live, and when I click on a specific camera’s replay, it instantly plays in the replay output?

Can this be achieved using nested scenes, source visibility control, or scripting (Lua / Python)?

Are there any plugins similar to sports replay systems that support time-based camera switching within a single replay?

Sounds like a timer or heat issue. Most action cameras will shut down when they get too hot.

It's a waste of your money if you don't use it for anything but streaming. I shoot in 4K and 8K on a couple cameras but the content isn't useful for streaming. If I use one of those cams for streaming, I don't set it for anything higher than 2K

No, you shouldn't lose your data. Only uninstalling can make that happen; like on the Windows version, there's an option to keep your Profiles and Scene Collections - I don't have a Mac so can't confirm if the Mac version has that.

But just reinstalling over the existing install should keep your data.

Just in case though... Export your Scene Collections and Profiles for safe keeping.

I'm having a really hard time figuring out how to stream both horizontally and vertically. Downloaded a few plugins as recommended (aitummultistream, obs multi-rtmp, vertical canvas) but ultimately keep running into this wall in stream settings: "you have selected a service that does not support multitrack video" with no way to change that. When I start the stream those plugins do nothing.,

I'm looking to stream horizontally AND vertically to Youtube, and just vertically to instagram (in addition to horizonally on X/facebook/twitch). The YouTube tutorials don't involve restream, and this noob is hoping for an explanation for those who use it.

obs load scripts by effectively doing smth similar to import <scriptname>. And as it happens, test is the name of one of the standard library modules, which takes precedence in the pythonpath, and so, obs loads that module instead of your script, which does jack shit

Hi, ever since my OBS updated I can't add my webcam as a source anymore. Each time I do, the app crashes. Please help! I tried everything already. I updated the webcam firmware, updated and rolled down my GPU update, and other solutions on the web I found.

I'm currently running OBS 30.2.2. and I recently tried to install the NVIDIA AR SDK, so I can I use it in OBS.
It wouldn't show up, even after a restart. So I decided to updated to the latest version of the Move plugin. Which is 3.2.0.

Now none of my Move effects show up anymore, and I'm not quite certain what happened. Cause I've never really had an issue with updating or installing standard plugins.

Is the latest version of the Move plugin, compatible with OBS 30.2.2? Or does anyone know what the issue might be, if the current version of the plugin should be fine?

at some point, obs stopped loading plugins that were compiled for a newer version of OBS than is trying to load it

I don't know off-hand exactly when that was changed but in any case upgrading obs will probably fix your issue

So that may be one reason I haven't updated it. That and just the general issue of it resetting my original mic filters.
So I always panic about updating it

I have a weird issue with the Downstream Keyer plugin. I have one global scene set in DSK 1 that has things like my green screen effects, Tangia, and a few alerts. For some reason the global scene in DSK 1 keeps getting unselected (not highlighted blue) while I am streaming so when I go to trigger an effect or someone tried to do TTS through Tangia it doesn't work.
I am not sure what the issue could be besides I think it isn't playing nicely with SE.Live's Vertical Canvas as I also have some issues where some green screen source's audio doesn't disappear from the mixer after I toggle the visibility of the source in the global scene to off? (Some people said this was because of vertical canvas?)

Anyone else have a similar issue or fixes for this?

Would anyone have a solution for this use case?
I'm trying to record some really clunky legacy PC games with OBS using Source Record while recording/streaming (for flexibility), but for whatever reason, changing resolution will make my OBS crash nearly every single time. I'm using x264 as the encoder, I've tried both Display Capture and Window capture, and through it all, it still crashes. I even tried using Branch Output instead of Source Record, but that ended up maxing my GPU for some reason that I could not discern as I have a 3060 TI, it should be alright enough to record some simple games. Heres my most recent log

Basically what I'm asking is is there any way I can get source record or branch output to work without crashes while recording/streaming normally, and/or without ruining my system performance completely?

My display automatically changes resolutions due to how the game works. It's menus are 640x480, and the gameplay is whatever you wanna set it as. I guess you could just put the entire game in 640x480, but it can go up to my monitor's full 4:3 resolution without issue besides this, so something close to that is preferred. Sorry for the lack of explanation.

Other games I want to record do similar with changing resolutions once upon launch just due to them running at lower res, but I'm not sure how much effect that would have if I simply did window capture.

You probably need Profiles and Scene Collections made specifically for those games at that resolution to match in OBS, and have the game already running before starting obs to capture them. Other than that, I'm not sure what else to do.

Oh, I know this one. Don't put the Source Record filter on a game capture or window capture source that will change sizes. Put the source in a scene of its own, then put the filter on the scene itself.

I digitize VHS and Hi8 tapes. I set a Profile in OBS for each type's native resolution. The Scene collection I use with it for digitizing only has the necessary sources for the tape's video and audio capture.

What I want to achieve is:

• When the connection from IRL Pro becomes bad or drops,
  OBS should automatically switch to my BRB scene.
• When the connection becomes stable/good again,
  OBS should automatically switch back to my IRL scene.

I’m using OBS and I can install plugins (for example Advanced Scene Switcher),
but I’m not sure what the best trigger/condition is to detect
a bad RTMP connection or signal loss from IRL Pro.

I would also like a way to TEST this myself,
so I can simulate bad/unstable connection and verify
that the scene switching actually works.

What is the recommended way to do automatic scene switching
with IRL Pro + OBS when the connection drops and then recovers?

Docks in OBS can be managed from the Docks menu in the main OBS window.

You can toggle docks on and off, or lock or unlock docks to prevent moving and editing, as well as add custom browser-based docks here.

You can also reset the UI from this menu to return your docks to their original state (Docks > Reset Docks).

Ok, I got it to build and loaded the fresh template into obs, in OBS it reports that it Failed to load 'en-US' text for module. However, the name of the plugin shows up in the Loaded Modules section of the logs.

hi guys i was in yesterday ty for the help btw, i now have a new issue and i feel dumb, but i do want this to get fixed. so im a game streamer and id like to get my overlays back. so im using streamelements for my overlay and i have it saved, its a non animated one. i thought you needed to use browser source copy and paste the url into the url bar when making the source in obs studio, but when i do that it doesnt take the overlay correctly, it zooms into the top right corner of and cuts everything else. so i used google and it says to use a image source for obs, but i cant get the overlay into a folder to use it for my stream can anyone help?

Hello all, Is anyone using the OBS VinciFlow plugin on obs studio flatpak?? If so how do did you setup the plugin? I was able to get it to work in the standard version on my linux mint but I had to use the PPA version. The flatpak version I would like to use but no lower third help. So if anyone is using it let me know.

So first step is to rip out the deb to get the files you want.
A deb is an archive, open it with an archive manager.
Inside you'll fine another archive, data.tar.gz
Inside that, there's two things that interest us :

• The <plugin_name>.so file that is in usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/obs-plugins

• the locale folder that is in usr/share/obs/obs-plugins/<plugin_name> and any other stuff there

• Any other file or folder found in those locations (some plugins have them), should also be moved alongside those.

Once you have those, go to ~/.var/app/com.obsproject.Studio/config/obs-studio/plugins and create a folder named <plugin_name>
In that folder put the following structure :

┃   ┗<plugin_name>.so
┗data
  ┣locale
  ┗other contents of the data folder

Lastly, in flatseal add LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/app/lib as an env variable to obs, so that it can load that plugin (N.B. this is unsupported, but it should work)

Docks in OBS can be managed from the Docks menu in the main OBS window.

You can toggle docks on and off, or lock or unlock docks to prevent moving and editing, as well as add custom browser-based docks here.

You can also reset the UI from this menu to return your docks to their original state (Docks > Reset Docks).

So currently I'm using Aitum Vertical as a workaround way of recording a separate scene with no overlay while I stream. I like this because unlike source-record (from what I could figure out) this way lets me record all my audio tracks separate which I greatly prefer. I am wondering if there is a way with my current setup to also stream to YouTube shorts. (Currently I am streaming to Twitch only) SE.live says it is incompatible w/ Aitum. I looked into restream but $190 for a year just to remove the watermark is insane. Hopefully this is the right place to ask

Hello wanted to get some help with this plugin branch output plugin

1. Using that with the goxlr it keeps recording all audio no matter what maybe i'm not separating it correctly. Wanted to see if someone can please take a look. I can share my screen or something. I would like to make it separate if i wanted to edit my voice louder than the game or system audio or vice versa.

2. For someone reason when I start recording for the pc screen it makes two different recording (one only lasting a second, while the other is the rest in full) is this an issue or glitch it didn't do that before.

3. While playing I noticed one time that either obs, the game itself or the plugin lagged so in editing at some point the audio went out of sync with the visuals. Is there anyway to stop that from happening?

I have a really good computer i'm just trying to fix these issues with the plugin. Hoping to maybe share screen and talk with someone who is knowledgeable and willing to help with this plugin and my setup.

StreamFX is tricky as it's not really supported anymore and its code and features are paywalled, so I removed it from my stack and replaced it with a variety of more current plugins (obs-shaderfilter, stroke/glow/shadow, scene-as-transition plugin)

Hello! I'm having some troubles with the captions plugin (I can't remember the exact name of the plugin).

First, it seems to randomly crash OBS, making it completely freeze and turning parts of the screen dark until I find a way to close it.

Secondly, it just... randomly stopped working? It's still detecting my speech but for some odd reason it just doesn't appear on screen via the textbox

Most consumer Nvidia GPUs have two encoders (you can get ones with 3 for data centers) so if you're streaming (1 encoder) and using source record (1 encoder) you're fine; if you also record your full stream locally while doing the other two, you will see CPU impact.

The update worked just fine for me, I can see it in the services list.

You can check your log file for any failures on trying to update, or check any firewall or security software settings that might be blocking it, but you're in support territory at that point.

Ensure you are selecting "Show all services" from the list. It does not show up in the default list.

No, but the services.json file is updated independently of version. So, whether it's the latest stable release, or the release candiate like I'm on, it'll show regardless.

We have no idea what your network is here doing. Check your firewall(s) and so on. Fenrir mentioned that that is more a support issue, but since it is more a technical support question as obs, i'm not sure if that server is the right place to begin with.

My recommendation as a not Win/Mac-User would be, that you ask in #windows-support, that your service.json doesn't seem to update. Maybe one of the volunteers has some ideas how to check, where it got lost in your network.

I’m having an issue with Move Transition not showing up in OBS and maybe somebody can help me.

The plugin loads correctly (confirmed in the log: “[Move Transition] loaded version 3.2.0”), and Move / Move Value filters are available, but Move Transition does not appear in the Scene Transitions (+) list.
I’ve already:

• tried OBS 31 and 32 (Windows 64-bit)
• reinstalled OBS and the plugin
• installed manually with the correct folder structure
• reset the UI / transitions
• checked the log (plugin is clearly loaded)

Any help would be appreciated, thank you soooo much! 💖
