Just downloading the file doesn't install the plugin.

With OBS closed, double click that file in your downloads folder. That will run the installer. Click through when it asks you to. Once it's done, open OBS and the Input Overlay will be a new source you can add.

Exit it, reopen it, then look for input overlay in the sources list again

Probably your antivirus getting in the way. Uninstall Avast, then restart the PC and try installing Input Overlay again

Or, monitor the audio from OBS. Monitoring is a built-in function. If you already have alerts with audio as sources in OBS, you can monitor and listen when the alerts are triggered.

I'm trying to create an automatic kill counter in OBS using the OCR plugin and Tesseract.
I'm streaming a game where the chat shows kill messages with player faction logos and colors.

Is there a way to set up OCR so that it detects when my faction gets a kill (for example, by recognizing our green logo on the left side) and automatically presses a keyboard shortcut to increase my kill or defeat counter in OBS?
I'm on Windows and I use a script with a hotkey (NumPad 9) to update the counter.
Any tips for detecting both the logo and its color/position with the OCR plugin or any recommended setup?

GetMediaInputStatus does give you the timeline bar. but it's a direct request so asking it more than once or twice a second is probs not too good an idea.
That being said, it's not like the movement of the timeline bar is chaotic, so interpolating it between those points is not rocket science

as for sending controls over yeah ofc that's doable

with that you have p much all you need

You could potentially make your own representation of the bar as well if you happen to be working within javascript, as there are a number of media-related Action events such as play, pause, stop, next, previous, etc.

But if you just need the sliders, regardless of websockets, you could just get the Media Playback dock, that gives full playback controls for media

So right now from what I'm gathering in the responses is that Elgato is aware of the issue and hopefully working quickly to update their OBS plugin to be compatibile with the latest OBS update. So you can do one of two things; if you updated OBS to 32.0.0, you may have to revert back to 31.1.2 until it's updated or I found a different OBS plugin that still works which is OBS Tools by BarRaider.

I just run all of my copies of OBS in portable mode. Easier to back up, and spin up a copy to test my stuff on before fully updating to a new version.

OBS for most of us is a production system. Best not to mess with it until we know all of the third party stuff we use is fully updated.

1. Close any instances of OBS
2. Uninstall SE.Live (Add/Remove Programs)

   Your settings will be saved unless you have selected to delete them during removal.

My current solution to this update:
Download Ver. 31.1.2. Just go back until the devs at OBS can get the Plugin Manager up and running. it was frustrating to go to the plugin manager and be unable to browse plugins because it simply wasn’t ready to launch just then.
The good/wild thing is that you can go to the main page on OBS’ website and I believe 31.1.2 is still available for download as the “latest release.”

the issue isn't that the plugin manager isn't working, the issue is that some plugin are using outdated functions that don't work anymore.
It won't be corrected untill the plugin's author solve those issues themselves, and most have already, you just need to update the plugins

If you wanna optimize a little bit more, you can apply a crop/pad filter before the blur, and crop it down to just about 20 pixels outside of where the mask is going to be.

This will give the gpu less it has to blur overall, but still provide the effect you want

Hey, I was searching for a way to get either a frontend custom define how many Audio Lines I wanna have or at least hardcoded it more than 6 which are there atm. I would like to have some more fine control over it, so I dont have to mix multiple into just 1 AudioLine for Recordings.

It's hard limited to 6 in the source, and from what I recall it is hard coded in many places or something like that, making it difficult to change. There used to be a musician based fork one of the devs had years ago but I believe it was discontinued a while back. There is no way that I'm aware of of getting more audio tracks than 6 without extensively modifying the program and maintaining it when new releases come out.

If possible it is better to use a DAW for recording external audio sources, shared with OBS.

I'm trying to use the OBS Move plugin to move a "nested webcam" scene consisting of a camera and a webcam frame to a specific spot on the screen with a hotkey.

I have a grasp on how the filter works, but for some reason, the "get transform" button isn't actually doing anything. The numbers don't change.

I've tried using both the most recent version of OBS, as well as rolling back to the last iteration of the previous version, but issue persists.

@fleet lava To my knowledge, there's nothing pre-made to specifically detect lack of mouse and keyboard activity. The advanced scene switcher plugin does have a condition for when the mouse is not moving, but that can trigger even with minute stops that you'll inevitably have during real work. Do you need audio from your recordings? If not, I could show you how to delete non-unique frames from the recording, which would skip or speed-up idle time. Alternatively, you could also use the "pause recording" feature manually.

You can change this value to 0 to discard up to infinite frames of inactivity, but depending on what you do, things might move too quickly. i would recommend to report it to they discord (nutty's discord). Since it seems they is no public issue tracker about that widget. Maybe it is something with in CEF. But they have a better idea, to find the root cause and then report it back in the obs-browser repo, if that is indeed a bug in the CEF build from obs.

that install method is unsupported by obsproject, only the flattpak extension plugins are supported.
If you nonetheless want to make it work, in flatseal add LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/app/lib as an env variable to obs, so that it can load that plugin

monitor lets you hear it, output goes to the stream/recording. If you are capturing your desktop audio device in OBS which is what you are listening too also, you will get echo as the audio will go to your desktop for you to hear it, then get recaptured and sent to your stream.

If that happens, don't capture your desktop audio.

I guarantee you the installer got blocked then, because I installed it around the same time.

It's not blocked because something bad is detected. It is blocked by windows because it's not signed. The signing process costs developers money to register with some body, and most plugin devs do not bother to do so.

So, I created a script that pulls info from Several Stream Label files and puts them into a Master File, so that You can display multiple text documents in a single Text Field in OBS (Did this so that when I have a line of Streamlabels with info, It would self regulate and format, so that shorter and longer usernames wouldnt be in danger of overlapping or changing the formatting) would this be something that would interest people, or am I the only niche person who would want this? lol

Hey all, I can use OBS to stream OK but want to use advanced-scene-switcher to automate tasks.

I have several scenes each with a number of different sources. Ultimately what I would like is to activate a source for 30 seconds then switch to the next source. When it reaches the last source it jumps to the next scene and so on, looping back to the first scene.

I have made a macro to switch scenes when a specific (the last) video has played for 30 seconds, but that's where I am stuck. Rather than naming a source, is it even possible to say "last source in scene"?

I'm having trouble reliably ingesting RTMP to my scenes. I've got an ngnix server working and running, and the sources are added to my scene as media sources. Sometimes the source just doesn't load, or dies without warning. I haven't identified any cause for it. When i disconnect or reconnect it doesn't reliably return, when i change to a scene with none of the sources and back they don't reliably return. Even closing OBS and reopening doesn't reliably restore them.

Barring a change i should make to ngnix or the media source plugin, maybe i should try a different plugin? Any recommendations for a more reliable best practice?

I once saw a streamer who had a really cool effect in OBS where all the blue colors in their game turned into a dynamic rainbow effect (constantly changing colors). I’d love to reproduce this effect, but I can’t figure out how they did it.

Does anyone know how to make all the blue tones in a game source display as a rainbow gradient or cycling colors in OBS?
Any plugin, shader, or filter suggestion would be appreciated!
