Is there a good green screen plugin? I'm aware of the chroma filter but it won't do what I need. I've found xsplit vcam and it's fairly solid. Just didn't know if there was a plugin I was unaware of or an "internal" way to do it.

The reality is the younger generation that I’m trying to target is only on TikTok, they don’t care about YouTube live, they don’t care about getting the twitch app just to watch us, they want something in stream. I know about the data harvesting and frankly so do many but there’s good money to be made on the app so 🤷‍♂️

Twitch does not at all suggest 8000kbps anywhere. People just started poking the ingest servers and learned that things -seem- okay up to 8000, possibly forgetting that audio tracks add on top of that

Is there a plug-in out there that can take songs from a folder and play them while displaying album art, song and artist.
It would get the information from drawing from the metadata.

not really. In order for an overlay to exist, it needs to composite and render, before output. Then you'd need each to be encoded seperately. I dont think there is much you can do here

After several hours, I was able to set up my midi controller, via websocket. I have three questions for you: 1. How can I switch from Layer A to Layer B so that I have twice as many buttons? 2. Is it possible to activate or deactivate a webcam filter via hotkey? 3. How can I view the audio sources of the audiomonitor plugin from midi mixer?

To capture only audio from specific programs:

Windows

  • add an Application Audio Capture (BETA) source and select the program to capture
  • alternatively, you can also use the win-capture-audio plugin on Windows 10 2004 and later

macOS

  • macOS 13 (Ventura): add a macOS Screen Capture source, use Window or Application, and select the app to capture
  • for previous versions of macOS, follow the macOS Desktop Audio Capture Guide

Hey friends. I'm on Mac OS 12.6 and recently upgraded to OBS 28. My Elgato Stream Deck is still working great with the upgraded plugin, but I tried updating my closed captioning plugin to support OBS 28, https://github.com/ratwithacompiler/OBS-captions-plugin/releases/tag/v0.28, no dice. It's just not picked up and my logs don't seem to indicate any issues, https://obsproject.com/logs/TvPhWJe4L0P0YlLo. I've also made certain that in my Security & Privacy section there's nothing I need to enable for that plugin to run since it's not from a trusted source. I'm curious if folks have other suggestions?

Hello! New to the discord so direct me if this is the wrong channel.
But I was wondering if it's within the realm of possibility to write a plug-in to allow me to change the paramaters of the "color correction" filter on a certian layer with a midi controller.

In other words, change the Gamma, contrast, brightness, etc. From a midi controller with knobs or sliders.

I've stumbled across a pretty cool way to use OBS with some analog video equipment and I'm gonna be doing some live visuals, and if I could adjust things with physical knobs instead of using my mouse for a slider, it'd be amazing!

I can still use Scale to Sound, and Move Transition... But I can't access plugins like Transition Table and Source Copy if they've poofed from my Tools menu.

@mortal harbor I uninstalled Gradient Source, Source Copy, and Transition Table using add/remove programs. Then I re-installed them. Gradient is the only one that's working.
Do you think it's a version problem? I'm using OBS 27... Then again, I've been using that for a week or two now and I haven't had any problems with Copy Source up until now

Short answer is that OBS28 doesn't work with the stable version of streamFX, and using the alpha version of streamFX made things break a lot.

I believe all that is available for exporting video from OBS to other applications via some mechanism or another is Spout, NDI, Teleport, SRT, and that multi-rtmp plugin.

the move transition plugin that you have installed is pretty out of date. the dir-watch-media one doesn't show any version number in the log so i'm not sure.

I’ve posted in the macossupport channel but they are saying it sounds like I’m missing a plug-in so I thought I would try here as well. This is a section of my latest log file. Stream crashes 5 or more times in a 3 hour stream. Goes down then reconnects. Started after I upgraded to latest version of OBS.

I thought that too. I’ve had my internet checked. They were just here yesterday. Monitored while I was streaming and I never dropped speed. Even when the stream disconnected my speeds were steady. My son streamed today using another stream software (that I don’t like and don’t want to use) and had no issues. I did the stream connection troubleshooting and tried every step in it. I’ve ruled out everything on my end, but can’t nail down why this is all of the sudden happening.

It’s a clean version. Started after I updated OBS the last time so I deleted everything and started with a clean copy. Nothing else has changed. We’ve changed everything possible. Removing overlays and all the extras to make the stream as basic as possible. I can’t seem to pin down what’s causing it. It’s just frustrating. But I appreciate the feedback.

Those are some good links, but keep in mind, most plugins will no longer be updated to work with v27, so you will be stuck with whatever their last v27 version was

Like to other post I loaded "Move transition 2.7.0" and I do not see the feature in the Filters for OBS Objects. Un like others I am running on a Mac Monterey OS Intel processor. Yes, NDI is made by NewTek. You need to install their runtime. Make sure it's the same version as the one required by your plugin.

Depending on what you use it for you could also check out SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) Streaming. It might be easier if you just want to get a single feed (video & audio) from another PC, since it does not require plugins or runtimes to be installed. (SRT requires OBS Studio 25.0 or newer.)

The obs64.exe process on both PCs needs to have local LAN access. By default the Windows firewall will only give public internet access to OBS. If you didn't check that second box for local access when you first started OBS, NDI won't work. You'll have to fix the firewall rules afterwards.

Hi! Hope everyone is having a good day so far! I installed OBS 28 but because of some encoding issue I wasnt able to use it so I was forced to go back to OBS 27.2.4 once I did that I noticed I didnt have the websocket plugin option no more in the tools to connect OBS to MixItUp bot or to the StreamDeck, I checked the website and I believe I downloaded the proper files and followed the step properly but Im still not able to use the websocket again, can someone assist me with that please, thank you in advance!

i have a pretty old setup my graphics card is a geforce gt 750m i use a laptop and with obs 28 i only get the options to use x264 and nvec new or something like that i dont exactly remember atm but when i run x264 cpu performance goes up super high and when i try the other option it says i have a driver issue or something which dont happen in obs 27 with this option

OBS v28 includes obs-websocket v5, but if you need 4.x you can download the COMPAT plugin for v28.

v27 doesnt include a websocket plugin at all, but you can download both the v4.9 plugin (non-compat), and a v5 plugin as linked above by Pen

It's also time to look for a new streaming PC here considering that your last driver update from Nvidia on that GeForce GT 750M was 425.31 from 2019, which technically wasn't even supported in OBS 27.2.x due to Nvidia Video SDK updates. Something with a Nvidia GTX 900-series or newer would be strongly recommended at this point.

i see your original post mentioned an "encoding issue" preventing you from using v28. i'd strongly recommend troubleshooting that instead of dealing with all this weird confusing backwards compatibility stuff that will only continue to cause issues/confusion as time goes on.

EDIT: nevermind, reading some more of your posts it seems like your GPU might just be too old and not receive updates anymore.

There is a standalone v5 for OBS 27, v5 is included in OBS 28.
And a compat 4.9 version for each Qt versions. Qt5 for OBS 27 and Qt6 for OBS28.

I get that now, I didn’t realize with 27 and 28 that they were both called “compat”. I took that naming to mean some sort of legacy compatibility while v5 was still being transitioned to

i'm on mac 12.5.1 monterey with an M1 chip, using OBS 28.0.3
I tried installing a plugin for OBS, but i have no idea where it went
it's not in the Plugins folder in the OBS app contents, and it just isn't on my computer, but it says the installation was successful...
any ideas?
For reference, this is the plugin i tried to install: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/waveform.1423/
got it from their github, installed Waveform_v1.5.0-rc1_MacOS_x86_64.pkg

this is the error that i get but the option that im sellecting for the encoder is the exact same as the one i use on obs 27 but it doesnt say new on obs 28 and evidently is cause of how old is the setup as i stated in the very first message i posted i can run it on x264 but again goes super super high so im gonna have to see if i can solve the plugin issue or just leave it as it is until i can upgrade to a new computer

I'm having issues getting NDI to show up under Tools. I have installed/uninstalled/reinstalled several times OBS 27 and NDI 4.9. I have verified the ndi plugin files i the plugin dir in OBS.
I had this problem before, and I can't for the life of me remember how I fixed it. And my previous google searches aren't showing the fix
Is there some setting in OBS I need to enable or something?
this is a fresh windows install. This is literally the 2nd and 3rd thing I've installed on it
i didn't install OBS 28 because NDI is still be worked on according to the plugin status page

apparently something got borked on the first installation. Not sure what
I had to install NDI Tools from ndi.tv site. Was able to install that, OBS shows the option. Uninstalled the Tools and reinstalled the Runtime library, and the NDI plugin is still available.

Should work fine in OBS 27.x or older. The key to maximizing plugin compatibility is avoiding updating OBS when a new version comes out until manually and individually confirming that every single plugin being used (including 3rd parties like Elgato) are confirmed to work with the new release first before updating.

When a new version of OBS comes out, some plugins may or may not work depending on if and how the ABI may have changed. It might be a case of someone having to just rebuild a plugin and release it for it to work with new OBS, or it might require actual code changes to adapt to a new API.

But 3rd party plugin developers do not all monitor OBS development daily and plan to release new compatible plugins on day 1. I'd go as far as saying that many plugins are developed, released and the developer doesn't follow OBS development at all and wont know their plugin doesn't work until someone tells them or they update OBS and find out themselves. So it's generally a very bad idea to update OBS if you use plugins at all, until confirming that all of your plugins are compatible with the new OBS or have compatible updates, and that the updates are not "experimental/alpha" which could destabilize production setups.

I'm wondering if, with Exeldro's move plugin, it's possible to move a source in 4pixel increments instead of 1... I know this is weird and unsupported, but maybe it's a quick edit I could do on my end.
Just a hopeful thought here as I'm working with pixel art and I am currently doing a single 10ms move source filter per each single 4pixel movement!

Title tells tuna to just display "Title", literally, which is what it's doing in your case
{title} tells it to replace that token with the song title

  • Listing the sources that have an audio mixer (currently done in 4.9 with GetSourceTypesList where hasAudio=true + GetSourcesList)

hiya fella i just started streaming like this month and had an extra tower laying around and am trying to setup ndi and it worked when i had them directly connected but the network too slow on my streaming pc so i got an ethernet splitter and now the ndi won't show anything from the source even though it still picks it up when adding it

Hello!

I’ve updated my mac to the latest update using Monterey, I downloaded the latest OBS for Mac users (Apple silicon). I have last year MacBook Pro with. M1 chip. I didn’t have problems streaming on OBS two months ago. But now I’m dropping frames all the time and my bitrate is fluctuating from green to red and my streams keep crashing.

What are some good settings to use so this STOPS. My internet download is 950mbps and upload is around 40mbps.
