OBS will not be developed for ChromeOS. The operating system has too many limits in place that prevent OBS from being able to do what it needs to do, and more often than not, Chromebook hardware is too weak to render and encode live video. The Linux Beta for ChromeOS does not change this.

I doubt there will be lower cost VR hardware for a long time if ever. They make and sell all that hardware at a loss on the volumes they sell and the cost of manufacture I strongly presume, in hopes that the tech catches on and they can ramp up volume and make it profitable. Since it first came out it has been a high end premium product space, where they don't have to worry about making it affordable right now either really. They'll keep or raise prices going forward as they iterate more likely than lowering prices.

The number of people buying VR month over month does not appear to have substantially changed for many years since it was introduced, but the number of people actively using it hasn't really been going up either.

This means the typical pattern is someone buys VR, has a day/week/month of novelety with all the free apps they care to try, maybe a few bought games, the novelty wears off and they deep six the hardware in the bottom of their closet.

Enough new people buy into it over time to keep the overall average number of people using it relatively constant give or take month to month, and to keep sales at the same snail's pace to continue developing the tech.

I don't think VR has enough to offer the typical consumer for people to find the value proposition of the hardware and available software to be worth it compared to other things they could spend their money on. I don't think this will change for a long time personally, but I welcome being wrong about it.

you enable adb on your phone, plug it into yer computer, and then you run scrcpy from the cli usin the arguments you want for what you're trying to do. Once ya do that a window with a mirror of yer phone screen pops up, which you can then go on to add as a bogstandard window capture in obs
