In an abstract sense you are just trying to get to your destination and there are two ways to gain distance: the bus and the glider. The bus starts at 100 and deaccelerates to 0, the glider is 20 (fixed amount). You switch to the glider when it gets faster than the bus (dropping out of the bus).
The advantage is that you land close enough that you get a weapon first and secure the space/loot around it. If they land at a chest near you then you can just zerg them down. They are forced to land further away so you are guarenteed a few chests and can use that to plan a route

oh btw I understand your desire to have as much as shield you can but u should try to match the survivors personality more and the bonus is bonus, if u want to get higher level

also it's best if u have in each team of survivors different personality so u have enough of quality survivors for each groups, dunno how your other groups look
btw one of the sort options when u are selecting survivor is to sort it by personality and bonus match, it helps lot when filling the slots to me 😄

Finally got the season's umbrella! Tried random squad fills and solo zero builds to get it, managed to get a win in solo zero builds. That's one thing less to worry about .
