#Attack in Place stuck when using Shift or Alt

If that's the case, I'm afraid that is not something I will be able to help, or anyone for that matter, as this would mean it's the engine.
I saw your Steam post but so far I didn't get any idea to help, and didn't want to say "Can't help lol" so yea :/
Looking at your video, I tried to reproduce it but I don't have the same issue, which makes me think it might be Windows or something else triggering this.
Also thinking Windows or something because I've been playing fine and this randomly just began occurring. I am running the latest Windows build. So far seems like I'm just going to have to get used to a new solution or something. I agree, not really sure what can be done by anyone about it.
It does also feel like a dying key. We could test for that ?
Tried so far with two different keyboards, one is a Ducky Shine 7 which I've just cleaned and tested with keyboardtester.com, second one is Bluetooth Logitech MX Keys Mini. I suppose it's possible both of those are faulty, I'll have to get some more keyboards and keep testing.
Both keyboard would have the ALT key a bit wonky ? That seems unlikely unless you smash(ed) it often on both
Alt and Shift both function normally in Windows, I don't notice any odd behavior from those modifiers outside of the game. Also a light touch on the keyboard
Do you have a software for your keyboard which has some sort of profile for in-game or something ?
the only keyboard software related to the Ducky is "DuckyRGBSeries" which controls the LEDs, for the Logitech board it's LogiOptions+
I don't let anything layer or wrap or interact with TQ when it's running
I can see how it could be the engine then because it affects both TQ and GD, but you're the first that I can remember right now to report the issue.
Thanks for taking some time to discuss with me on it, for now I will just use a different keybind for attack in place.
We could try to see how you keyboard response to the input from Windows POV. Otherwise, I don't have any idea why just GD and TQ and only you
you know, it seems like there were a couple inputs that seemed a bit wonky. I guess it's possible I own two keyboards with messed up shift keys? I'll have to get a 3rd or install on my laptop, because for now I'm out of keyboards
I was going to say, it does feel like it's missing some inputs but maybe it's my POV through a video that doesn't help. You would notice it much better than me
You could try to Repair Windows, maybe it's going to detect something. Instead of reinstalling Windows completely. In case it's Windows
I'll give that a shot 👍
alright just tried it with a brand new keyboard and same issue, one press of shift locks character into place, so that makes me think it's perhaps a Windows issue...
ruling out the USB port being the problem because it also occured over bluetooth
windows repair came back 100% clean as well
just documenting stuff & thinking out loud
so if I am holding LMB to move and then hold shift to attack in place, instead of one tap, i don't get stuck. the issue lies if I ever tap or hold shift after I've let go of LMB, instantly stuck in place
idk man maybe i need a fresh windows install, really hoped it wouldn't come to that
tried with a 3rd brand new keyboard and still occurs
If you are well organised, reinstalling Windows doesn't change much
Decently so, I am going to give that a shot I suppose in the coming weeks. This absolutely has to be on my end somehow, I'm thinking.
