Do staffs work better on an electrical burn prophet or melees ?

Since you get some str from dream mastery you should consider getting to 170 str and 425 dex on Legendary difficulty so you can wear Stonebinder's Cuffs. All other points in int.

So to be clear I should get 4 points of int then 2 points of dex then 1 point of str

Prophet is a magic damage/int heavy character who can get Psionic Beam. So the class does far more damage with a staff. It's also a bit fragile so staying at range is good.

you can try EBD for sure, im just not all too sure how many good sources of it is out there

You could do that, or you could just do 2:1 int/dex until you approach legendary difficulty, then start dumping into str. You don't need the str until then.

psionic burn in to psionic beam maxed and then max psionic touch for the total dmg proc

coz the ebd is ona 4th attack proc, but beam cuts it in to 2 attacks

in act3 normal there's a staff called the fulminator, and if you'd get that you'd mostly be set for a long while for attack based EBD

if you go EBD from abilities the max temporal rift and spam the living crap out of it

If you want to try something amazing then just leave 1 point in Storm mastery bar. You can take Storm Nimbus if you want, that skill can be respecced but mastery bar cannot.

As soon as you have enough points to grab Trance of Wrath, you want to respec out of every other skill, fill up the mastery bar and max that skill. Then you grab gear that gives +skills and % Electrical burn damage, as well as the Static Charge skill in Storm.

Yes but you can pick other skills in dream meanwhile as long as you have gold to respec once you're high enough level

16-100 EBD over 4 secs is actually the highest youll see till legendary but it's a pretty nice ammount

and the staff drops on act3 normal and in act4 sometimes so it should be a reasnable drop, but other than that getting carried by trance of wrath isn't too bad at all

EBD does not stack, only the highest dot will be applied. So you don't need Psionic burn or EBD on weapon once you have Trance of Wrath

Eventually you'll get Distort Reality which is insanely powerful on a prophet. Then you can spec out of ToW when it finally begins to fall behind on Legendary

and for skills, you can level with wave if you chose to, phantom strike is key, aura chose between convolesance and wrath, lucid dream and all its upgrades are key, onslaught over psionic touch so psionic is not even pointed and das about it

there's like a plethera of reasons why i'd advise against it, unless you know how to actually use two aa replacers

also, im playing the ebd prophet with a staff that's from epic dificultie, aand um EBD sucks but the staff is crazy. Prophet is actually busted.
