This is a small project of mine that I'm hoping to expand into a full game.

WIAGO is a “Bureaucracy Simulator”, taking place in the United States Department of Power's Administrative Headquarters, where players assume the role of government employees and perform office tasks in order to earn money which they can use to purchase items to decorate their desk, office, and (maybe) apartment.

Job Roleplay with Puzzle Solving and Sandbox elements.

Gameplay Inspirations:
Bloxburg
Zach's Service Station
Work at a Pizza Place

Artistic Inspirations:
Oath of Office: Political Simulator
Quantum Science Energy Research Facility
The Waiting Room
The Stanley Parable
Severance
Parks and Recreation
The Office

Disclaimer: there are some free models here as placeholders, specifically the cubicles. Outside, the cars in the parking lot, antennas, and the trees are also free models. The cityscape is a heavily modified version of gm_bigcity. The "John Irving Forrester" building was entirely modeled by me, based on the James V. Forrestal building in Washington DC, the Department of Energy headquarters

CORE GAME PRINCIPLES: ..
ABSOLUTELY NO COMBAT!
Tasks should never require cooperation from other players.
Tasks should never negatively impact the experience of other players.
Players shouldn’t be able to sabotage other players.
Gamepasses should not make the game easier for players, only add additional optional challenges.
Gamepasses can unlock access to items for purchase, but do not instantly purchase the items. Effort must still be made.
The game should be both playable and fun to play even on small servers.
Reporting inappropriate player behaviour or creations should be as easy as possible.

#

TASK SYSTEM

Players receive DAILY TASKS and BONUS TASKS.
Both are chosen at random from an array of options.
Daily Tasks are displayed in a list (Like in Among Us) at the beginning of the day.
Bonus Tasks occur at random times and with different levels of rarity.
The rarer the Bonus Task, the more money the player will earn from it at the end of the day.
Bonus Tasks are spontaneous and have a time limit before they disappear and are no longer able to be performed.

#

PRODUCTIVITY

Players are given a “Productivity” meter.
If all Daily Tasks are completed by end-of-day, the player earns a paycheck.
Completing all Daily Tasks provides you with a base of 50% Productivity by the end of the day.
Failing to complete all daily tasks will provide less than 50%, and any extra earnings from Bonus Tasks will not be counted.
Bonus Tasks provide a strategic challenge for the player. They can interrupt their Daily Tasks, which usually are time consuming, in order to pursue the high-paying Bonus Task.
If the player does this too often, they risk not having enough time to complete all their Daily Tasks, and won't be able to collect any of the Bonus Task rewards.
Completing Bonus Tasks will increase your Productivity meter beyond 50%, even if not all Daily Tasks are completed. As long as the Productivity meter is at least 50%, the player will earn the standard base paycheck, they just won't get anything else.

#

POSITIONS

There are different positions within the Office that players may be employed as.
Positions can be selected any time.
All players spawn as normal employees.

NORMAL EMPLOYEE POSITIONS:
Office Worker
Receptionist
Janitor
Maintenance
Field Agent (Game Pass)

#

MANAGEMENT

If a Management position becomes available, and eligible players are online, a vote will be initiated to select a new manager.
Only players with a productivity of 90% or higher are eligible for manager.
If there are multiple options, a vote is initiated.
Normal, non-management employees will vote.
Candidates can opt-out.
If there is only one other candidate, then that candidate automatically wins.
If there is a tie, or if nobody votes, then the candidates are prompted with a rock-paper-scissors. (If a player doesn't click an option in time, they automatically lose, if nobody clicks anything, the winner is selected at random.)
Managers oversee their respective departments.
Each manager can select their own Employee of the Month who will gain a positive multiplier on all paychecks for as long as they hold the title.
There can only be one Employee of the Month per team (Office Worker, Reception, Janitor, etc.)
Managers themselves have a x2 multiplier applied to their paychecks.
Managers will receive the exact same tasks as their employees but with a few extra available tasks that have a chance of being picked from the pool.
Managers can “discipline” employees with low Productivity compared to their peers.
Disciplining employees has no effect on the employee, but provides a bonus award for the Manager.
Management gains access to exclusive areas: Manager’s Office, Generator Room, Server Room, Records Room, and Security Office.
If a Manager’s Productivity meter drops below 25% by end-of-day, or if they do not do any tasks in 20 minutes, they will be removed from their position.
The Office Manager’s meetings will provide all attending employees, regardless of role, with a +10% addition to their productivity for the entire day. Only one meeting can be hosted a day.

PAYCHECKS

All employees receive a base payment of 100 dollars at the end of the day, assuming they have 50% productivity.
If employees have a higher than 50% productivity, and all Daily Tasks have been completed, they will gain an extra 2 dollars added to their paycheck for every 1% percent of productivity.
Example: If a player has 100% productivity and all Daily Tasks are complete, they will earn 200 dollars from their end-of-day paycheck.
Players can only reach higher Productivity than 100% by attending an Office Manager’s meeting at getting the 10% addition. This will result in a paycheck of 220.
Managers have a permanent x2 multiplier applied to their EARNINGS (not Productivity) applied only if the Manager is still a manager by end-of-day.
Employees of the Month have a permanent x1.5 multiplier applied to their Earnings. Because the title can change quickly, only one employee will get the earnings, depending on which employee held the title the longest on that day.
