Welcome, fellow band geeks! It is a shame to me that so much music nowadays is composed using just a bunch of 1s and 0s in some alien program they call a DAW..? Beats me! And while there are many highly talented composers who use such programs, they just aren't for me. So, I decided to bring things back down to reality around here and share some of my compositions and arrangements, all written in good ol' fashioned music notation.

So, I present you with a small collection of my orchestral, concert band, and chamber ensemble compositions. Feedback is always greatly appreciated! I have no formal music theory education, and mostly learn by what others tell me sounds good and bad. So please, don't be shy!

Let's start off with some concert band, yeah? I've been working on this one for about two weeks now. You can take a listen to the creative process here from 3:35 - end. Not sure if I like that yet, might roll with it and fully expand it into the chord structure, might delete it.

Okay I finally finished engraving this thing after fixing about 86 notation errors, will post the full score later today, and I’ll start writing a closing statement and a cadence

Cool here is something I've been dedicating the past few days to, this is only like 1/16th of what I have written but I think this part in specific sounds pretty cool. I just need to add some woodwind depth to it and I think it'll be really cool to have this interplay between the taikos and other frame drum percussion against the timpani and low brass + the shaker

Two weeks later and I have finished the 'composition' part of the above and now have an outline. It isn't orchestrated to my standards yet and I struggle most with the orchestration past this step but we'll see what I can do. Needless to say there is still a ton of work to be done on this piece, but here is is as of 3/9/26. The middle portion was heavily inspired by something I heard somewhere I just cannot put my finger on it. But, I made it my own anyways.

Only just saw this post/thread, quite interesting stuff I must say.
I quite like it though, not often do you get to see this sort of thing.

Oh and I really like the start to the one above, a really good introduction of things to set the mood and idea for it all.

Anyways I am working on another piece... though unfortunately I do intend to make an attempt to publish this one (as this time around I have some significant mentors helping me out and guiding me through it) so sharing it would necessitate me sharing my full real name which unfortunately I cannot do. But, once I'm done with that I'll probably be fixing up the one I have above.

SO! I decided to look at my financial situation and realized I can't afford $10.65/month for nitro so uh no more audio uploads. BUT instead here is the score for something I've been working on. You'll have to imagine what it sounds like! And yes sorry in advance I didn't engrave it yet so it looks pretty ugly but y'know is what it is.

A lot of them are used for a couple measures and that’s it though, it’s sort of the writing style I’ve gotten in to

Definitely going to need a lot of work on my part to stick to a traditional concert band or orchestra as currently I find the instrumentation of each constraining and I find a lot of times I have to add flavor instruments to get anywhere- so definitely some work to be done there
