Changed lighting settings, added furnace, removed moving cubes from vac tubes, reduced animation clipping and reduced server lag by a good margin.

Until I find a good way to make this facility, I’m going to be working on the elevator system. Fully animated and whatnot, as usual.

Developing lore, based on outlast lore but different.

Historically, will most likely be an early version of the Mount Massive Research Institute, most hallways will be unfinished, with the superstructure being unfinished as a result of the facility being rushed to completion.

Facility at the time is fairly new, but most materials used to construct the facility were bought cheap, from an industrial plant located 20 miles away from the facility.

As a result of Murkoff’s recent contract with the CIA and the OSS, the facility was chosen for its seclusion, and since the closure of the Mount Massive Asylum in 1971, the Land was bought at a Very low price.

In 1972, after Murkoff’s acquisition of the facility, Mount Massive would be selected as a participant in Project Rinfeld, an attempt to develop and improve the previous failed research into Mind Control that was conducted during Project MKultra.

In February 1973, Murkoff would begin acquiring “volunteers” for Project Rinfeld, often using flyers and Volunteer Offices to bring in a steady flow of Test Subjects, often kidnapped off the streets after “volunteering”

A Signing bonus of food and cash would attract many volunteers, most of which had been suffering from poverty and hunger, making Murkoff’s offer much more enticing. Nearly all volunteers that signed up during this time would be dead within 4 years (as late as 1977) as a result of several incidents that would occur at Mount Massive, and the unethical research that would occur during that time.

In May 1975, Murkoff would begin construction on a new underground facility to house the Rinfeld Project at Mount Massive, as the Mount Massive Asylum building was becoming too crowded, and did not provide adequate room for Research and Volunteer Housing.

In September of 1977, the facility would be rushed to completion, resulting in most of the facility lacking comfort and sterile facilities.

Present day, October 1977:

`Murkoff is experiencing a major influx of Volunteers as a result of expansions in recruitment efforts. This major influx is due to the recent Mount Massive Expansion.
The Above-Ground Mount Massive facility would be closed by Murkoff due to “Operational Costs”. A public statement would be released stating that Murkoff would be moving away from Psychotherapy, and would be closing the facility. Most patients located at the facility would be released despite objections from the Department of Health and State Lawmakers.

Murkoff’s decision to close the surface facility was not made due to “Operational Costs” but to convert the facility to a utility and maintenance Site, in order to support the Underground Mount Massive Research Facility, primarily using it as a way to bring equipment, supplies, fresh air, and food into the facility.

Currently, the facility operates at full capacity, and experiences some incidents from time to time, as a result of recent psychotic episodes from “volunteers” that went through Research trials.

Many Employees complain of terrible working conditions and safety issues. These employees were found to be Mentally unwell, and would be registered as “Volunteers” as a result.

Any attempts by employees to contact the outside world have been met with severe consequences.`

`As of October 28th, 1977, several incidents in October involving violent reactions to Chemical Therapy during Research trials have led Murkoff to increase security presence within the facility.

Murkoff also entered into an agreement with the OSS for additional emergency response services, allowing military personnel to provide assistance to security personnel during times of unrest, security breaches, and emergency medical situations.

As a result of the top secret research projects that take place at Mount Massive, Federal Authorities have established a Restricted Military Area around the Murkoff Mount Massive Property. In order to protect the public, all military personnel stationed in the Restricted Military Area are to wear Murkoff Security Uniforms in order to prevent public interest in the facility, and to act as a reasonable deterrent.

The CIA has also manufactured a cover story for the Mount Massive facility’s increased security, releasing a public statement, using Murkoff’s Press Department in order to release the cover story in a way that does not arouse suspicion.

Murkoff would release the statement (manufactured by the CIA) on September 17th, 1977. The statement explained that investigations into chemical leaks at the asylum were ongoing, and that major cleanup efforts were underway. Due to high levels of chemical contamination, the site was closed to the public.

Murkoff would then have all shipments leaving or entering the facility labeled as chemical waste transports, in order to prevent suspicion.

These coverup operations would prove to be successful at keeping the public eye away from Murkoff, and would keep the site protected from unwanted visitors.`

`As the facility nears its first day of operations, many operators have experienced significant issues with facility control systems during initial interface testing in the new control rooms. In response to this, a new operations manual will be issued tomorrow, October 9th. Recent data collected from system testing has allowed us to not just include instructions on how to operate the control systems, but also how to troubleshoot and repair these systems.

Until the new Operations Manual is issued, all control interfaces are to be tested for any further faults.

Once the Manual is issued, maintenance will perform a preliminary inspection in order to ensure the equipment is certified and ready for daily use.`

It will be mostly relaxed, with some roleplay intertwined, but its mostly about the combat and general gameplay loop. Its mostly about being roleplay oriented while trying to be as chill and fun as possible. As of now, we’re in an early phase, so not much fun atm.

Development has slowed, most of the dev team is in college, so we cant focus on the game as much as we used to.
