me and my friends are beginning to work on the frame work for the main menu

while we continue to work on things over the weekend, i am continuing my quest for Esperanto
in this case, there will be fictional words in Las cherung that will be mentioned and have their own meaning, you may probably seen some few mentioned in this form with words like "Cherungian" "Protomica" or even just the place itself "Las Cherung"
these words are made up, they dont have real-world counterpart, and meant for the story, so because of that, i made up a uh... little vocabulary for me and maybe some of my friends to remember if we ever decided to voice act for Las cherung and note some specific vocabulary

GGshor finished setting up a basic translation module thingy that will hold translation for our UI, me and tix were brainstorming about stuff to add to the main menu and the game itself, and I did some more small changes to the main menu visuals.
in others words, i was discussing with a different friend who knows polish very well and we've considered to have him onboard to handle polish translations :)
in other words, las cherung potential supported language is now up to 4 - English, Esperanto, Spanish, and Polish

today's development, ggshor got the language module up and going now, where we can remotely change the game's client language to our selected 4 languages, using some tags to fetch any text labels if they have avaliable translations stored in the modules we are using :)

majority where I learned from is a website, Lernu.net, it provides a TON of knowledge and understanding of Esperanto, though you need to sign up to access it (their courses are completely free, packed with a guide of esperanto's grammar, dictionary with english to esperanto translation, audio library for it, and fourms)
at least, for apps, im just doing like a archaic approach of looking around online, using a dictionary, and bought a book "Complete Esperanto" from teach yourself
so i wanted to make my own font
so... i did
i always wanted to make my own font, especially in a typewriter style, used some online that are in public domain i think, and sometimes used it for various graphic designs materials for las cherung, but yesterday i wanted to endeavor myself into making my own font from scratch for one purpose in mind, a type writer font, that supports esperanto characters
i present Ĉerunga Presaĵo (Cherungian Print)
i drew all the glyphs in procreate (tracing some serif fonts though), turned it into vectors in inkscape, and used fontforge to compile my font into a functional TrueTypeFont (.ttf) that i can use anywhere, especially for my graphic designs, and the game itself, and I want to show you all :)

unfortunately this weekend, i was focusing on my college classes, at the same time, some of us were unavaliable!!
but i want to share some small personal updates in relation to las cherung
as i approach into my 3rd month in learning esperanto, i've become more confident in speaking, typing, and understanding the language, and I have started to began practicing some voicelines in esperanto, since i am certain that the language will be spoken commonly in background characters or character who only speaks natively in esperanto
i made some few lines, with the sentence made up by my current knowledge of the language, didn't put much effort in the characteristic of the voices but its mainly to see how well i can utilize the language for the day i need to voice some characters ^^

So i translated mojave initatives nearly a year ago, and back then I realize (aside iniciativo, initiative in esperanto), the logo is kinda wrong? especially preserving the name Mojave (like the Mojave Desert which is pronounced as "Mo-haa-ve"
so with the redesign of things i am doing, i decided to reconstruct the logo of Mojave Initiative to be more stricter with esperanto's grammar rules + translinguating it properly :)

A drawing concept I made of some new Cherungian attire i was thinking of
A stander (based on some 1920-esque workers) cherungian attire with the only difference being a unusual earflap-styled hat that acts like a hardhat (with the base/head of the hat intended to be made out of wood or metal)

i cant do basic animation in blender its so much more confusing than moon animator for me llol
there was a ton of trial and error when rigging the finger, especially when i wanted to actually deform
i esentially modeled the arms and build a rig that kinda loosely resembles a normal r6 rig, just with finger joints
though atm i only have it sitting in blender, since my attempts of trying to port it over to studio (with the intent to animate it from blender to studio with some plugins) are actively being conflicted.. im presuming the way i set up the rig is not the best
wait doesnt the blender animations plugin allow you to export bones?
oh yeah, that part is fine (exporting as a .fbx)
its more so my idea of trying to animate stuff in blender with said rig

blender is something i use to create assets like meshes, layouts, or level designs, where as studio I've used it for actually putting together the meshes, decorate, and more level designing

You can very much create good materials using just Substance Painter, but its gonna be a lot more complex than Designer (but then again, two diff systems) and a lot of layers

probably alot nearing the turn of the 1960s, the exact processes are unknown as im not too familiar with economics to nail down sequences of events aside from few things
During the golden age of Atomic Revolution (1945-1956), Preŭo are valued more and was a stable international currency for a long time, mainly empowered by the Industrial Sectors and stability in the economy. However by the late 1950s, nations like Columbia (where las cherung resides in) went into immense economical and political turmoil as a recent economic scare lead (mainly from a recent uprising and a growing distrust in the revolution) to the Preŭo being printed more to compensate the losses, this was temporarily resolved by the Cherifield Society Act of 1958, which did alleviate the value of the Preŭo
Though by the 1960s, the economy would begin to fall into a irrecoverable free fall as the Atomic Revolution was quickly slowing down and being rejected by more and more people across the northern world as a destructive movement, especially with the unregulated industrial sectors and no other stable real world currencies to rely on would effectively cause a hyperinflation before Columbia fell into a civil war by October of 1964

earlier today, me and ggshor worked together on our pre menu thingies (mainly him guiding me on remaking the code)
should be a lot cleaner than my initial one i've showcase, not much change aside changing some sounds and visuals (such as flickering on some transitions), as well demonstrating the full capabilities of our language system (*note: polish and spanish I haven't done much translation yet, so alot of its translation would yield up as empty strings as we haven't given them dedicated sets of translation text here and there)

its been a while since i composed another soundtrack, and this one didn't have much variety put into it when it comes to melodies
but i suppose its a music i made for when you first get introduce to las cherung as the character your experiencing through
this is the first music that i used with the program called LMMS, free opensource audio workstation (with plugins i found and installed for various instruments)
mainly for me to get used to it as i feel there's more features to it i could work with, however the music is just a repeat of melodies and short, nothing too fancy

Hey Guys, I just wanted to say, although not with celebration or anything, **Las Cherung development will still continue to persist in face of these new requirements for game publishment **( And I say that with, deep sadness, and im aware I'm very stubborn considering how the platform is going 😞 )
The content of the game I envision would work best for 16+, been for a while when thinking about the future of the project, so I seem to fit in that category needed in the time i will publish this in the far future, however I will talk with my developers about this to see where we can go, but i again I want to emphasize I don't say this in good spirit or not since although we're still going, this update drastically haulted or canceled many projects I've seen around, and i know many of those meant a lot to those who make it, its heartbreaking to see. This also affected many of my close friends and developers who they have their own project they wish to work on.
I feel like, for anyone who sees this. In the face of a drastic change like this (I hope, even in small probabilities that roblox will change these restriction) for anyone in this predicament where they are facing getting locked out of their own projects, Pursue your dreams, inside or outside of roblox, whatever makes it possible.

A story-driven Roblox dystopian game centered around a complicated alternative history world, focusing on a loosely company owned factoryville.
The year is 1964, and the world is drastically changing due to an ever-growing crisis that has been ignored for so long. The age of an technological revolution referred as the "Atomic Revolution" brought profound stability and innovations from the tragedies that had brought society to its knees decades prior. However such stability is not permenant, the nation that fuels this revolution has fallen under immense political, economical, and ethical turmoil which threatens their several-decade-long regime and the rest of this radicalized society. Yet news has not reached the people of Las Cherung. The harsh environment and the city's industrial paranoia make such news hard to come across.
Yet you, one of many unfortunate souls of the industrial workforce, will yet to realize the predicament you are in. Esperanto is definitely a uncommon language, considering being a constructed language, its in its entirely own avenue. However I do imagine its mainly limited to environmental backdrops, i'd imagine the characters itself percieve the world in english, as well with other UI elements, i did have ideas to make it where you can hover your cursor over the poster to see the english translation for each text (or any translation depends what the user picked in the menu that is supported)... though that's more of me saying a idea than actually having a proof of concept
I would say I did get into the language very much so I probably did rush to implement in many aspects, at the present moment I will have to map out ways to still make it understandable with the things i mentioned prior so its not a complete language barrier, as i don't imagine the game is entirely to be in esperanto unless picked by the user's with our translation options
I would love to hear any ideas from others on how i go about this since, it is a new avenue for me, i will say i did made alot of stuff in esperanto with the poster designs and even the music name's, though at the moment, they are only seen in environmental backdrops of the game
maybe some NPC too? those sort of things is still far for me to really have a definitive answer
does it make it immersive? eeeeh i don't really know, i picked esperanto considering its history of its creation, and how i written the story of the world las cherung is in up to that point, i'd imagine esperanto managed to succeed in actually being adopted unlike what happened to the real world

I recall the main character saying he was so accustomed to the Navi language he just hears English or something
so theyre speaking Na'vi most of the movie but we hear English because Jake is so used to it
so in your story, you could explain somewhere that theyre actually speaking in Esperanto, but what we/players see and hear is English
i've been studying about the area i am making for las cherung, I think I am ready to work on the map again, this is definetely overkill, but I will see where this will go
This is a real world location in North Arizona, scaled down by a factor of four, using USGS's data to render this, A place I feel las cherung will be located in, same place from previous showcase, but with newer heightmaps for landscape details

If you didn't, I'd strongly recommend to turn this into a mesh (and potentially texture in sp) because roblox terrain at this scale is wonky to say the least, it has no LOD compared to meshes so the engine is gonna render the entire thing at high res all the time which will result in lower FPS
Again, if you export then you get all the maps aswell so there's no need to go above and beyond to texture the entire thing in SP

it was something i want to do since its better than working with terrain... but yeah having to manually chunk the map into like... 20 tiles? or more and manually bake each texture for each mesh in blender and upload them individually, with weird hitboxes due to scale

You can see it in action in wireframe mode or even by comparing the geometry of close versus far terrain
Its more jagged
If anything iirc a native terrain object is lighter to load compared to a streamed mesh due to the nature of how the engine works with everything being in the cloud now but I could be wrong
The only downside is the resolution sucks for smaller areas

So far we mapped around ~8% of this district, situated in western las cherung, like other district, it is mainly full of housing and unregulated business just in the outskirts of Las Cherung's factory central, it is probably a bit povertish compare to other regions, hence the archaic artitecture
history of this area is not yet written, though I will be talking to a friend about various street names we can give
Fun fact: Golden Water is our first area we've attempted back in april of 2025 with our initial map attempt (and interestingly enough, info about this comment is still accurate to this day)

i was wondering how you got the terrain, did you make it by hand or get a heightmap from the irl world and then painted terrain yourself?
I mentioned it here but I can gladly go into details!
The heightmap data I've gotten to choose my location for Las Cherung was downloaded from USGS's 3D elevation program, which is avaliable on their website

with resolution up to 1-meter, so VERY high resolution detail, that is if there's a avaliable scan in that resolution of a area you've picked
I've also got satellite images of this region from a diff service (i can't recall though) and sort of align it with the heightmap
and modified the image to be a color map for roblox's terrain generation
considering the scale of it, i did had to break the original image into 4 seperate tiles, each generating around 6K studs in scale (and this is just me shrinking the actual map from its real world scale by a factor of 4)
I had to stitch the heightmap together since it was consisting of four seperate regions in the USGS's scan, so i downloaded those 5 that overlay the area i wanted and stitch them together in QGIS to avoid any seams

its a intentional thing from me where i just don't follow any form of standard at all, and just make what i feel my mind can make at the time

All the filters and overlay I made are done with a amazing mobile app called Snapseed :)
a lot of tools you can work with, and even cool overlays (as well making custom filter packs so you don't need to manually set a specific style each time)

Was meant to ask, what happened to the posterization?
I attempted to take it to this version, however the way i achieved the posterized lighting was using the old fog system and putting ridicilous sized numbers for their color RGB
giving that visual
it however comes at a cost of not being able to use atmosphere or fog
... something I've yet to really find a work around to preserve that style on the outdoors aside the billboard "fog" idea (which is peformance heavy and often time the engine bugs out with rendering decals or other images on top of the visuals)

I know you will eventually find your style, las cherung didn't start off looking like this, there were many revisions that eventually got to this point
the rustic style is something i am more familiar with compare to, modern sleek styles? idk how to explain it, but i am not great with those lol, so it takes time until you find a style that you can excel in
