generally happens to me if I'm dragging parts onto some funky stuff, ESPECIALLY meshes (and unions) because their collisions are optimised
holding alt will fix that issue specifically, with the downside of having to manually rotate your thing

this was done with substance painter with some masking and beveling
and then i cut away the areas i needed for transparency in paint.net

jesus I have that size of floppy in real life and they look just like it, and that's some great optimization work
regarding that thing ghastly pointed out, if you're using Substance Painter there's an option to export with infinite dilation, if you don't have it enabled I very much recommend you do as it usually fixes uv island edge artifacts

if you want truly masochistic levels of optimization for that kind of geometry specifically, make two subdivided planes facing opposite ways, connect them, and slightly lift the center vertex of each

The reason why at the entrance in the maintenance zone it says the name of the reactor is because most of maintenance controls are in the same room as the reactor controls (named the "terminal chamber"). And no, the reactor will not experience meltdowns since in the case of fusion reactors the reaction would just stop and/or the system would automatically shut down the reactor.

substance painter for the camera, but the ui was made in roblox
how did you make the triangle vents and lines on the lense
lense tube i thibk
for the vents I created a custom alpha in a different software, which I then used to apply a texture over stacked UVs. every other vent has the same texture but flipped vertically
and details like, straight dots on the dials too
for the stripes, I used a brick generator in substance painter to create an alpha of lines, which I then masked to the faces around the edges. The alpha was used to create a height map, which I then converted to a normal map
the dots are warp projected using an alpha, although you can and I used to do it by just painting it on. Warp projections, however, make it easier to apply and change later on. Don't project on the shape directly, instead project on as a mask so that you can more easily control the color, roughness, etc. of markings

I mean yeah, there's a lot of arbitrary settings placements and odd word choices that might be mistranslations
not to mention a lot of times changing one setting changes another, and sony tends to make it difficult to fight the right combination of compatible settings for things like recording format and outputs

Two years and One soberTrinity later, I've decided to seriously focus on this game and to make it as a fan game for QS, but instead of being like it used to be back in the day (aka bad), this game will be based on the old roblox vibe (2009-2015)

so the studs don't look weird or misplaced

Im trying adding metal edge wear in substance for the first time but some edges it just says no or adds too much
Anyone able to help me with baking the normals?
(Metal Edge wear done by white mask and generator)
that seems to be a UV map Issue
i just use smart uv project, so i'm not sure what the issue could be
I even went and marked the edge seams
when i try to make edgewear more pronounced, i usually modify the bake mesh settings a bit
on curvature maps, i think i increase smthing along the lines of "rays" (i forgot the full name of them π
to like probs over 100 or something and rebake the mesh to get me the edgewear i needed

I don't think that worked, i have 0 clue about baking but if i had to guess the black lines are where the edge is defined.
you need to pack the uvs with that if you don't want problems
go to the uv tab, select the uvs on the left with control a
