the easiest way I can think of is to form the outline of the shape you want, then build inside that outline for the rest
for the sails, I would form the curve on the outside edge, then extend sideways to the other edge on the other side of the ship

Makes sense. I was gonna go for triangular sails for this thing, since they were the most efficient at the time. My idea for this build is that it's a dry dock used for ship repairs, and this is the one ship that's WAY overdue for a retrofit.
Second vessel in the dock for a repaint is gonna look like this.
But I guess for triangular sails, I can always try to build the wooden poles themselves, and just build it up layer-by-layer using the wooden pole as a supporting strut.
