#Suggestion: Temperate seasons

A lot of people is complaining about food, since there is almost not difference between the different types of food and you can feed your colony only using berry meals.

I would suggest to limit food production during seasons... something like change the temperate season every 50 days.

The idea is that the player would need to change the food consumption and production every 50 days... in winter you cannot produce berries and wheat, but you can produce X.

PD: 100 post in this forum 🥳

Disagreed 😅

#

50 days is way too long

#

People don't experience that, like a gradual increase in threat

#

It's a sudden thing

#

People won't optimize for day 51-100 during day 1-50

#

I also don't think the problem is that gigantic

#

Is somebody going to be excited for 0.9.1 because finally now farms stop working every X days? 😅

having to replace your food production on a regular basis sounds terrible, and doesn't solve the problem. different food types would still be an irrelevance because you don't need multiple.

Not only that but even allow the player to change the season and in each season he can produce X or Y materials that cannot be produced in different seasons

honestly kinda sucks

So is this about seasons or about food, because if you just want seasons, it doesn't have to have anything to do with food.

You just make it rain in the spring+flowering visuals on leaf blocks on the ground, summer would get heat wave effects and maybe a darker green, fall would make the fall trees make more sense and presumably be all over, and winter would have snow (but probably not snow accumulation, that would take effort). Or something purely visual like this. I'd make it like 5 days, maybe 10

That i would love. nothing wrong with seasons, they could be fun.

The idea is to add a mechanic that changes food production / usage

#

And I though why not linked it to seasons
