#How to ores?

So I've gotten to the point to where I have to mine in my colony again after the update. I mined down to the old Copper-Tin level and found nothing but slightly darker stone. Am I not deep enough or are ores less common now? Please help

Edit: I mined out a roughly 7x9 area and found absolutely nothing.

you should find copper and clay just below where the dark stone starts

Oh it's not like the last version where they spawn right on the surface, is it?

like the layers should be like this:

  • 1 block of grass
  • 3blocks of dirt
  • light stone
  • 1 block of dark stone
  • 2 blocks of copper and clay ore
  • dark stone
  • 2 blocks of iron ore and most biome specific ores
  • dark stone
  • 2 blocks of some biome specific ores (gold and sulphur afaik)

Yeah, last version, as soon as you reached darker stone, copper n tin spawned

Different biomes has different ores

For example the tin is only available in snowy mountainss

Gold is roughly 30 to 33 blocks down from the snow layer. Tin 3 blocks up, roughly 23 to 26 below snow. Clay, copper and iron can be around and above, along in the top layers of dark stone.
