#GPU making clicking/rattling sound

I think it’s definitely just coil whine but it seems to have gotten noisier recently. I just deshrouded and repasted it and adjusted the pads and it runs cooler but same whine
EVGA North America's #1 NVIDIA partner.
Might be the PSU
As the title says, every gpu i owned for the last 2-3 years had serious coil whine, meaning that i can easily hear it while the GPU is in the case...Sometimes with headphones too, depending on the game.
Today i got a new Asus-Noctua 3070 and it has it too...My previous 2070 Super had it aswell...
Could it possibly be the gpu power cables?
I just ask because I just swapped to a custom set of cables
Not that the noise is new but I do think it’s gotten worse
Yeah
Well, at least you could try reverting to the old ones then
Maybe i’ll give that a go, because I don’t have any other PSU to test with
I have the sf850, new newer one
Oof, in that case yeah that seems to be your only recourse. Do you have an old GPU?
No unfortunately this is all i’ve got
Hum, not great morally
If it's not the cables maybe buy a new cheap riser... But realistically you'll have to consider it's the PSU or GPU
It’s the riser that came with the T1, the blue and silver one
Iirc some people with the reference XTX cards were affected by bad coil whine
How much headroom do you have been your PSU capacity and CPU/GPU TDP?
I wonder whether you're being hit by transient spikes which your PSU is barely coping with
Yeah that should be fine tbf
How can I even check total power draw?
I don’t think this psu has the sensors to get anything exact
I think most the gpu can draw is something like 300 watts
I’ve been trying to tune my fans lately to make the system more quiet because my fan curves before were going to like 100%, so maybe that’s partially why I notice it more, but I still think it’s gotten worse
You'd need a power meter to best measure total system power, but I don't reckon that's the issue. I assume you didn't skimp on the PSU?
I dont think so
Everything I bought new except the gpu, which is this one

It had a wobbly fan and the 7800 xt is already known to have a fair amount of issues. So I expect it is the issue, but anything I can do to remedy it would be nice. I already deshrouded it so I can replace the noisy fans. i repasted it, didnt replace the thermal pads but did adjust them and fluff them a little so theyd make better contact.
Maybe see if you can get a new fan for the GPU? Or even an aftermarket one with better cooling, no idea if those exist these days but I used one on my HD4870 back in the day
I already deshrouded it, so I have some other fans (my fans which are supposed to be exhausting) on it atm and the noise is still present. but i’m gonna order some fans
If it is actually coil whine then changing out the fans won't help tbf
the fans were loud and looking like they would fail soon so at least that problem is fixed
but maybe i should take it apart again? I repasted it when i deshrouded it, is there anything i could have done that would make it whine more?
i’ve noticed the wattage has a direct connection with the severity of the noise. or voltage i guess
i slightly under volted and slightly reduced power limit already
before that recording
