White
which LEDs though? can you take a picture?
Yep
oh never mind the picture is upside down lmao
The borad is upside down
are you sure your gpu is fully seated? have you double checked the display cable is plugged into the gpu and not the motherboard i/o?
I took the gpu out to isolate the issue
ah well unless you have integrated graphics you're gonna have to put it back in to get the light to go away
It does have a igpu
gotcha, and still getting the same issue?
Yep
what model processor/motherboard?
10850k
Rog z490 strix
did you end up clearing cmos or no
I pressed the button on the back for 5min and still have the same problem
and you have both 4 and 8 pin cpu cables plugged in?
also i would maybe try each ram stick individually to see if maybe one of them is bad, or a different kit altogether if you have one
Yes
are you sure the cables and monitor work? maybe double check monitor has power and source is set correctly, or try with a different machine if you can'
I tried two different monitors, nothing
Different cable types too
do you have both cable types plugged in at the same time or just one
Tried each and then both at the same time to see what would happen
gotcha
The pins look fine, one looked a Lil odd if I looked it at a wired angle, but looking down they look fine. I even was careful taking in out and in and covered the socket when I cleaned the cpu.
hmmm
It was working fine when before I repasted it, just thought it was running a bit hot
i would maybe take a second look at that pin... other than that i'm not sure, esd is definitely a possibility. maybe double check to make sure there's no debris or anything on the board, or trapped behind it if you can see back there.
you can kind of use your phone camera as a microscope, it's not great but better than nothing
what thermal paste do you use?
My luck it shorted it
But it passed the cpu post code ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
No everytime I try to boot it go yellow, red and go to white and stays there
oh, i thought you meant you found the short
No haha, just saying that'll be my luck
well, i would say that's not unlikely ๐ if i were you i would take off the cooler and double check, clean up with some IPA if you have it. it's possible the cpu is fine but one of the pcie lanes is shorted to ground or something. probably not a permanent issue, should likely still work if you clean off the paste
Ipa?
isopropyl alcohol
Clean what off tho, its basically spotless or do you mean clean the CPU?
if there isn't any then there isn't any i suppose. could look around to see if some accidentally got elsewhere but knowing that you have a conductive thermal paste definitely makes me think that's the most likely issue
Only thing I can think of is that some got pushed under the ihs
def possible
.. Mf
Can I even clean that or is it just screwed
oh wait sorry i misread, no not likely it's under the IHS
more likely it's pushed into the socket but ultimately that's not super likely either
I'm at a loss then..
if you haven't taken the cpu out of the socket and double checked i'd do that
Yeah I did earlier
But wouldnt it be stuck on the red led if it was a fault with the cpu to that point
no, because it could be something that's not critical to cpu function but is needed to output video that's shorted
I wanna cry that I had like a perfect mount..
Those look fine... i definitely see a bit of the paste on the edge of the IHS and the socket but it doesn't look like it's shorting anything. i would look on the board in the area around the socket
The little bit on the edge of the socket happened earlier when tried troubleshooting it
Cleaned it
Back side looks fine as well
We're back baby ๐๐๐
