#Motherboard bending

PC Specs
Case: M1EVO v1.1
CPU: 12700k
Mobo: B760i Strix
Cooler: TR SS135 with A12x25r replacement
RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance
GPU: 4060 TI Gaming X Slim
PSU: SF600

So I have tried 2 different versions of the same mobo (B760i Strix) in this case now and both have followed the same bending pattern. The mobos themselves were straight prior to installation.

Is this a case tolerance issue, or the CPU cooler is too tight / heavy for the board? Anyone else have this issue?

The bottom right of the motherboard is worst looking, and I should also mention that the bottom left motherboard screw does not tighten all the way into the standoff (on both occasions with different mobos)

All motherboard standoffs are measured at 6mm.

Any help appreciated

TIA

I mean it looks like the middle is sagging so I would say the cooler

#

i would say support the middle with something non-conducive

Yes I think you’re right, it doesn’t help that the actual rail structure underneath the motherboard also bends in both directions. Overall I haven’t had the greatest experience building in the M1Evo, gonna look for a new case to move to I think

I think you need longer standoffs for the mobo

#

it looks like the io shield location is further up then your standoffs

#

I swapped to a T1 from the evo (initially wanted to reuse my matx board) - the T1 (from formdt1.com) is significantly more premium feeling, stiffer with better finish, better quality parts, everything, I regret buying the evo

#

the evo can be okay, just wish I got a T1 instead in the first place lol

#

but to clarify there are multiple lenghts of standoffs

@tawny falcon thanks for the response - I did notice that the IO shield was slightly further up when I installed but I thought that was just the norm for this case. I got it second hand and oddly it only came 6 standoffs, 3 of each 5mm and 6mm. In the user manual it looks like 6mm are specified so I ordered some more online - but hey, maybe those aren't the right size either!

oh odd, also for the space near 24 pin for matx you need a smaller plastic washer that comes with the case - hopefully they included that

#

the manual on this case is absolutely dog shit and it is embarrassing that they have not fixed it for how many people have complained

ah darn, I can go measure the size you need tonight if I don't forget

I think I'll be moving back to my trusty old Streacom DA2 when my replacement mobo comes in

yeah that's probably the best call... the evo design is very impressive for how much it can fit in such a small space, also the number of possible configs... but just has too many issues to be "good"

yeah that would be helpful if you could!

#

Even if I sell it on then, I can let whoever know

#

like GN said - 'Ncomplete'

i’ll try to find my calipers, but this is what it looks like
