If you want that crisp, texture, and non existent legends when chroma is off go for the phantom keycaps. If you want more RGB shine through, bigger legends, and what may last longer due to the material go for hyperx

It hurts the sound quality because then you have something that affects your lows and mids and you have absolutely no choice in the matter on it because it's not a software switch (like the ones razer intelligently added for sound normalization and vocal clarity, or even bass boost switch on the kraken TE's predecessors that got removed because... fuck I couldn't tell you), so it entirely throws off sound
It means even if I could get it as close to clear as possible, the lows are artificially closed off because the switch either lets the bass sound like you're standing inside a sub or like there is no bass
and don't even get me started on the 250hz band on this thing

you can adjust the volume in setting for the usb dac and amp or you can use big button on the size of headset. i would never sell that dac and amp if its real tested and passed 32 bits some say it value alone is over $2000. also check usb amp and dac setting in windows audio see if its running at 16 bits or 32 bits

i was thinking everyone with a laptop should get one since laptops only have 16 bit audio. its easy to check windows will not let you change audio setting if its not support. just check windows audio setting. its just like sound blaster g6 but sound blaster g6 can use its own power supply and the amp does a lot more power then just usb power.

the keyboard you buy though is up to you, personal preference

I use a firefly v2, I really wish they would release a larger matt with more rgb zones tho, i have a wheel effect rotating around the bottom of my huntsman elite, and the firefly, and once my basilisk v3 comes in i plan to match up the underglow of that with them as well

I do hope for an updated version of the huntsman elite tho, with the rgb on the south side of the keycap, or on both sides, because while i love the phantom keycaps, the underglow effect of the translucent sides isn’t very noticeable from the typer’s perspective due to the RGB light being on the north side

The v2 analog is the closest thing to a successor to the elite, but, if you want to stick with opto mechanical, your only real option is the huntsman v2, but, you lose the underglow of the elite if you go that route

I don't think that will happen as the elite was replaced by the v2 and v2 analogs. I don't think they'll ever make a v2 with red/purple and underglow as that was a deliberate cut Razer chose to make and it would be the only difference between the current v2s and the "new" one, which would not merit and entirely new product.

I mean, i see where you’re coming from but isn’t the point of the elite/ultimate/pro products just over the top features that are more cosmetic than practical, getting rid of the underglow on the baseline huntsman makes sense as now the keyboard only needs one usb slot for the rgb, and by getting rid of the zones on the top of the analog keyboard, all the rgb is powered by one port, with the second serving only as a optional pass through, for those willing to use up extra usb ports for rgb, i could still see a place for the elite as a more expensive, but flashier model
When the elite came out, the only real difference from it and the normal huntsman was it had more rgb, and added on the volume wheel and media buttons
Plus with the analog already adding on more rgb and acting as an elite, they could just use the v3 analog or whatever they end up calling it, and release an elite v2 alongside it, using the v3 analog chassis, but swapped out for opto-mechanical switches, creating a model in between the v3 analog, and regular v3, without spending a lot of money on the design
But thats just me spitballing an idea, there are other possibilities and ways to market an elite

I think razer dropped the "elite" name a while ago and seemed to stop using the "ultimate" label as well
In their most current lineups "X" stands for budget or low end and "pro" is the highest spec"
I don't think they will release a huntsman v2 with underglow as much as I want that simple because there's no point. If you want underflow badly, sacrifice sound and get the older elite. I assume razer is going in the direction of marketing towards eSports s pros with the V2s (maybe not the full size as those don't get used in eSports but still) who don't care about underglow.
In the future they might bring back the underglow but it won't be on a v2 and probably a completely separately huntsman with its own new updates, aside from the underglow

Honestly what i think is gonna happen, is the analog is gonna branch off into a new keyboard, until now its been simple, cynosa is membrane, ornata is mechamembrane, blackwidow is mechanical, huntsman is opto-mechanical, i think they released the first analog as a huntsman as a marketing strategy, and once the technology takes off and becomes more practical, they’ll release a new line of keyboards, in which we may finally see a huntsman pro release, which may have underglow return, or, introduce another feature like wireless, or something else to take it’s place
Although I can’t really see the huntsman line going wireless anytime soon due to the switch using more power than mechanical so it’ll probably be something else

Wireless will likely never happen on a huntsman, forgot which Razer rep said that. For the reasons you said above I started typing this before u finished lol
I mean I don't see the analog tech springing off as for the majority of gamers, it's just not that useful. It's still an optical switch so I see why it's in the huntsman line. Most people just won't be able to take advantage of the tech nor cough up the money for it
I think the V2 analog likely won't get an update for a very long time unless analog tech really takes off across the entire market

Once it gets cheaper i do see uses for it, racing games and fps games could see a huge use for them, but, until the tech either takes off, or gets cheaper and more commonly used in setups, game devs won’t have much reason to implement support for them
Especially in fps games where if they add support, an analog keyboard would be a tactical advantage, and we all know how gamers feel about hardware giving you an advantage lmao

Right but as an avid FPS player myself, FPS players will never risk speed for control
The advantages of double binding a nade do not justify switching to a new keyboard instead of something like Q and left click

The heavy ass switches of the analog are keeping me away
They aren necessary for the dual actuations
But most FPS players I know including myself want a very light and fast switch
I use a purple elite since Razer purples are somehow the lightest "clicky" switch I'm aware of
