V2 was an ok headset, but the build quality was terrible (not sure if that was only on the pro model or all models) I went through 2 seperate blackshark V2 Pro's with them constantly breaking at the hinges.

V3 seemingly fixed that issue ontop of having better sound quality.

So I can get a Kraken V4 for 135 euro and V4 Pro for 300 euro. While I mostly would want the pro for the haptics, I have yet to decide if I find the 2* price worth it.

The biggest thing for me is, charging it. This will be my first wireless headphone. How do you all charge it without cluttering my desk too much? The base station v2 (don't own that one yet) doesn't have a short, clean and minimalistic cable to charge it right? So do you just keep a wire laying around on your desk or just plug it in when the battery is getting low? Any clean solutions?

Hello, I just got the Razer Barracuda x 2022, and its somehow not turning on, and yes i charged it. Via the jack plug its working, but not with charging and pressing the power button, there is no blue light an no sound.

The Kraken v4 is arguably the worst razer headset to date.

The sound quality is poor, cheap mics from 2010 are better quality, it hurts to wear for more than 10 minutes, the narrator blaring "mic on mic off" can't be disabled, the sound and mic continuously glitch making it unusable most of the time, the lights are a gimmick that you have to turn off anyways because they drain the battery, and just now the headset fell apart.

Now I have to go through the effort of returning this piece of e-waste past the one month window through amazon.

I haven't even started on the atrocious state of synapse and the complete lack of quality control all razer products have these days.

You uninstall it and refund the headset before it's too late.

You click set as default. Failing that you don't. If you set chat instead of game as your default output, you can't change any of the settings in the headset.

How I got around it was keeping game as my default output but then going in to advanced sound options and manually selecting chat for the things that it needed to be. Sadly you can't do this for everything.

The product you buy should work without months of effort to get it to work and fix the problems it has. Just refund it

I have old razer products that aren't supported by it. They didn't even bother to port that over. Which means more bloat. Razer synapse 4 seems to struggle to communicate well with razer hardware from my experience. And in a lot of other peoples experience, it just doesn't work at all. Then you see the rubbish some people post in here about its fun quirks.

Also, "Razer Synapse 2 will continue to operate on existing PCs but cloud-related features will no longer be supported effective October 28, 2025."

But yeah, I managed to get my late refund. They're coming to pick up the kraken v4 tomorrow. I've been looking into alternatives, non of which are razer. It's not exclusively a razer issue either btw. These days you're paying for the same cheap chinese rubbish you get made by child slave labour, but with the razer, logitech, corsair, etc. logo on it, for 3-10x the price. Some headsets I've noticed were made by the same chinese company. There's a few, including razer and logitech, that i've noticed some of their parts sharing the same mould for some parts. No wonder quality control doesn't exist in big brand "gaming" products anymore. Corporate greed choosing to use the sasme cheap chinese slave labour. Y'know when you buy this stuff, the tax payer foots the import fees, so you're not really getting it cheaper. It just means another pothole isn't getting filled, and police and fire fighters are getting budget cuts.

If logitech weren't also suffering from quality control I would suggest my g502 lightspeed. Been using it since 2021. My one and only complaint with it is the rubber wore down. Everything still works as well as the day I got it, and damn well at that. Sadly they also have crappy software, just like synapse.

I wish razer would go back to the quality it used to have. Same for all companies. I've been using the siren since 2019 and the part that failed was the wire. It is still useable if held at the right angle so I just have it taped there. The razer death adder was a lovely mouse I bought in 2017 that I would still be using if my monitor didn't fall on to it, along with my Razer Ornata Chroma. Though that has somehow survived, many many accidents. Spillages, my desk collapsing, and so much more. Missing 2 keys but I'm using it to type this. They just don't make em like they used to.

I wish this was supported by synapse still. I still have it in pristine condition

I would love to use that in my setup. I've built a chair with universal hotas mounts (though i've mounted the x56), and I could have the mouse pad mount extension for each side, one for the mouse, one for the tartarus. I'd love to use that in games like elite dangerous

A significant portion of razers customers are uninformed buyers that will accept any piece of crap they put out there. I don't mean that as an insult. People with a job and family typically don't have much knowledge on the matter unless they're heavily involved in tech as I am. So when buying their kids new stuff for their birthday or christmas, they look at the brand and then the price tag and think bigger price means better quality. In a lot of cases, it's the oposite

7.1 surround sound is when you get sound from your headset, basically it’s like having a traditional theater experience on your PC setup

I prefer THX Spatial Audio though since you can hear amazing sound that’s made by THX which really makes it feel like you’re in a theater

Are you on PC or is this a console it is plugged in to? From my personal experience, this on pc is caused by a controller being connected and unused. Also, does it do it for every game? If not, then what game is it?

If it is the mouse which is triggering it, and the mouse is not in use, it may be the sensor causing it. In which case, turn it off or if it is wired, unplug it or turn it upside down

I don't quite understand why you want the game to think your mouse and keyboard is a controller when it can use mouse and keyboard, but if it is not a programmable mouse, then an emulator would probably be your best bet. I've only had experience the other way around, making a ps4 controller behave like a mouse, not the other way around.

The only such software I know of that can do that, or at least the most popular, is quite controversial, and will get you banned in some games. I know there was a lot of controversy surrounding I believe "the finals" back in the day with rewasd

COD, Apex, the finals, and more, ban players who use rewasd

Whilst rewasd is supposed to be used for good, people use it to get the in game aim assist while using mouse and keyboard, as well as to compensate for recoil.

As a temporary fix, try this:
Make sure the game is fully closed. Not running in the background. Unplug the keyboard, load the game, load into a session, plug it back in.

It depends how thick the powder is.

Oil will cause the rubber to dissolve and crack.
Don't use your nails or anything hard because that cheap rubber breaks easily.

I suggest first using a cotton ball to dust off as much as you can, then a dry q tip with minimal pressure, then make the q tip damp with water, not spit. Your spit has oils in it. Don't forget to dry after. Dab it with the cotton ball.

If they are 100% supported, try this:
Task manager synapse
Reopen synapse
Unplug them then plug them back in
Restart your PC

Some things to note:

Old versions of riots anticheat, vanguard, have been known to mess with the drivers.
In addition, make sure they are plugged directly into the PC. Not into a USB hub or anything. Preferably USB 3+

Failing all else, I think there's a button somewhere to repair synapse

Well as a final resort, try downloading revo uninstaller. It cleans your PC of any left over files from the thing you uninstall with it. Uninstall synapse 4 using it, then reinstall synapse 4, and restart your PC. If that still fails, your best bet is to just use synapse 3. I'm all out of ideas

Idk if this would actually help but it's something to try. If you press the windows key, type "bluetooth", and click "bluetooth and other devices settings", you can remove it from the list, unplug it, then plug it back in

My friend and I had a problem with the usb bar at the front. Old cases, and even some new ones, sometimes short out the front. Not sure the cause on mine since it's not one i can take apart without breaking. Loose wires, moisture, and degrading silicon can cause it if im not mistaken tho

There will be a mini short now and then for me and unplugging then plugging back in fixes it for me

I dont know why I have so many issues with Synapse. Both 3 and the Beta version. It seems there is a necessary 79mb update required and my app just keeps force closing itself. I have tried reinstalling, running as admin, reparing via the razer app, etc. Nothing is working. The program opens to the login screen and just closes, every time. A couple times it has popped up to the download bar 0/79 mb and closed, or went to 79/79 then closed, and a couple times a few words of red text have appeared but its small and closes too fast for me to make out what it says.

If my mouse and keyboard are going to continue being useless and this app causing so many headaches im thinking im gonna have to switch to anotehr brand for the first time in over a decade... Cant find any fix for this issue.

I also just tried to reinstall Synapse 3 and it just opens to the loading bar, changes colors a few times, then closes.

Quality control is non existent these days.
Razer especially suck when it comes to sound.
I have tried many razer headphones and even the soundbar. Synapse sucks, THX is owned by razer, razer headsets peaked with the razer nari essential.
I strongly advise you look up reviews for the Barracuda X Chroma.

If you want a red flag check list when looking for headsets, consider this:

1/4 of written reviews negative. You're gambling at that point. You have a 1/4 chance of hating it.

RGB. It's a gimmick. You will turn it off. It runs down the battery and serves no purpose.

The use of pleather. However, there are some exceptions. If you can buy better ear pads, and the only pleather part is the earpads, then you can just buy better earpads. Pleather will deteriorate fast. Doesn't matter how well you take care of it.

The use of plastic in moving parts. It will break. Sometimes when not even in use. One moment it will be fine, then you pick it up and SNAP.

As a closing note, if you're willing to gamble, and you can easily get a refund, I'd say go for it. The Razer Barracuda X Chroma is one of their better headsets. You will be turning off the Chroma tho. I would have suggested the Razer Barracuda X without Chroma as it is pretty much the same headset, however, it has a pleather head cushion.

Oh, tho if you have a big head, don't buy any razer headset made after 2020. It's going to hurt your ears and be at high risk of snapping.

If you're using an old motherboard, new razer not only has poor quality control, but it also doesn't play nice with old motherboards. motherboards from a few years ago that have USB C still don't have enough power for some products, and it's not just razer that suffers from this. Sadly I don't have time to go through all the possibilities and find a fix but I would strongly advise just getting refunds on products that aren't plug and play. It shouldn't be down to the consumer to troubleshoot and make the product work.

Is it the usb slot? The motherboard? The front USB bar? Too many wireless products running at the same time? The product?
Are any of the items damaged? Perhaps there's a short? If you use a powered USB hub made in china ik they have been destroying peripherals and motherboards.
Do the products still have these issues in other machines?
If it most definitely is the products at fault here, then a refund is in order.

So I found out that most PCs have issues with the 8000hz and you have to lower it. In other words, it is suffering from success. This is a case of less is more.

despite this, razer audio has sucked for quite a while
just level it all out. All the sliders flat.
don't enable any of the special crap.
enabling thx on some of their headsets just makes the audio muddy.
if some of your audio is going quiet half way through, then go to sound settings, app volume and device preferences, and switch between chat and game to see which is at fault. Sometimes you have to manually set things to use chat to stop the audio dropping half way.

8k polling is overkill, and as someone who has used 25.6k dpi, I can safely say only a small % of people will be using the full 30k and almost all of them are fortnite players. The two mice have very little in difference and no difference in price, at least here. The only difference I could find is the shape. v8 for claw grip, v6 for palm grip. I personally wouldn't go for this mouse since it doesn't meet my needs and seems over priced for what little it does offer.

First of all, I’d like to say I really appreciate your products — I’m a big fan of the Razer ecosystem and recently bought Razer speakers Razer Nommo V2 Pro and peripherals.

However, I noticed something that might be confusing for many users: the THX Spatial Audio feature is not enabled by default and has to be manually activated in Synapse.

Many people probably don’t even realize this feature exists, so they never experience the full 3D sound that Razer advertises. This could lead to unnecessary returns or negative impressions, even though the hardware is excellent.

I’d like to suggest a few small improvements that could make a big difference:

1. Automatic prompt in Synapse:
   When a THX-enabled device is connected for the first time, show a message like:
   “Your device supports THX Spatial Audio. Would you like to enable it now?”

2. Short sound demo:
   Let users hear the difference between stereo and THX Spatial Audio instantly.

3. Default ‘Optimal’ preset:

How old is it? Are you within the warranty period?

If you're out of warranty and it's just one switch, replacing it shouldn't be too hard. But you'll have to learn to solder.

And if you're lucky, it might be a cracked solder joint. Although Razer seems to have pretty good quality in this regard.

Well first yes needs updated i dont want spatial audio option setup unless you can turn it on or off. It's locked eq settings not all experienced user favorites. Also during setup first time it should turn on the option for headset plug in. Razer surround sounds was only for headset at first. Normally I plug speakers or sound bar into headset 3.5 mm to get them working. You can also plug speakers into sound cards setup depends on sound card for speakers or sound bars. But they remove support for sound bar because some audio cards were being sold cheap with out paying. You have to get Dolby atoms. But I do like the idea of letting customer know if on or off easier.

Keep watching hopefully when updates get fixed hopefully added 9.1 headset support 🙏.

But post information to razer insider website. Update have been planned for years hopefully will happen one day.

Hello everyone

I was blown away by the amazing mic quality of the 2023 version of the Blackshark v2 Pro.
Compared to most other headset mics, this one was by far the best I heard, specially out of the box.
I play regularely with my cousin who owns the V2 Pro from 2023 and I really feel like he has the most natural voice sound in discord.

I've listened to many test videos about the V3 Pro and I have to admit that I'm really disapointed by how muffled the voice sounds.
I've seen some videos about a new firmware fixing this muffle sound and some videos sound really good.
In other videos I feel the V3 Pro still can't reach the quality of the V2 Pro from 2023, which is very sad thinking about the bigger mic.
The mic of the V2 Pro from 2023 sound so damn cristal clear, almost like the natural voice.

So, to make it short ( ): is the mic of the V3 pro really a downgrade compared to the good old V2 Pro from 2023?
