I'm thinking about buying the Razer Blackshark v2 X, but I have noticed that the 3.5mm version are not compatible with razer synapse, in my country it costs a little more the USB version that is compatible, but is it really worth the higher cost? Is razer synapse really worth buying just because it allows me to use it? Does it have any advantage to use usb than the 3.5mm? I guess with some work you could set it up as keyboard but I'm not recommending it. Unless you use on screen keyboard but still it's more for gaming.

It's more like a controller right stick with lots of programmable buttons. It's great once you get it setup. The version made after it. Is being sold by other companies we might get a razer version one day.

Why does my razer blade seemingly get continuously worse at cooling itself even when I keep it clean?

And I have to keep clocking the cpu down lower and lower to keep it from overheating, because letting it go to full cpu speed means just opening an app gives it 100c spikes, but the temperatures seem to be gradually worsening over time regardless almost as if the cooling hardware is just losing effectiveness

So I’m worried I’m gonna get that issue AGAIN with this one I’ve had for 8 months now

I have the damn thing capped at 3.4ghz max cpu speed, and it STILL idles at 50c if I have something like discord open in the background, when back when I first got it, it would idle in the mid 30s…

It’s also always had 2 cpu cores that continuously run 5-10c hotter than all the others

However when I use the laptop in other places it seems to run slightly better, I wonder if the house’s high humidity isn’t playing a role here(the previous laptop’s vents were rusted after 2 years)

You can try bios updates but it might just run that way for a while. I never done minimal testing myself. I know the new one over 4 ghz do get warm running full power but that's a lot of speed to move data. I normally run my with cooling pad for gaming or anything that has a heavy load. You can consider thermal paste as well it going bad definitely can increase temps by 10 degrees. But I definitely check bios updated security updates for your model number.

I not had problems myself if your using right size the new cooler bolt down with great force. Most pads one the cooler is attached go to the right thickness and easly transfer heat well. I try lots of fancy version. But all work about the same for me when testing. A few might give you a few degrees better transfer. But Intel are very affordable and they done the most testing.

I used cooler master or Intel lots because they were in stock at computer store.

I know a few say check both cpu and gpu at same time.

My laptop also has very good airflow too

When I use it at home I use it with a desktop monitor and the monitor stand has a shelf in the middle for the laptop with holes for airflow

So it has like 4 inches of completely open air below it

I think the humidity is probably making some impact though..

I only found one problem with Razer laptop cooling we did not like but they changed design on early 2000 models.

But I definitely find cooling pads worked when gaming to suck heat away from bottom faster. But some are useless use cheap fans.

Some just stand up and use 12 inch fans to suck heat away

But a few say this can cause fans on laptop to wear out early.

I had more gpu fans wear out then cpu fans. My self

But I never really use stock cpu fans long.

depends on where you will have it placed. If it's just standing on the desk/same place as the keyboard, then it's highly likely it will pick it up easily. Most people get a boom arm or some sort of mic support so that it doesn't pick up general desk noises

Hey there, I need some assistance with looking for a new mouse. I want to find a mouse that has a scroll wheel that doesn't suck. Ideally it'd be nice to have one with an optical switch, but I couldn't seen to find any that have them, which is weird, because these days middle click is used often enough to warrant one, but I digress. That layer contains a protective coating allowing your mouse to glide smoothly .

No it wasn't "important". Your mouse will still function BUT you'll want glides on your mouse so it travels across your mouse pad smoothly which will affect it's performance. Either buy some third party glides to replace or send your mouse back in for repairs and wait 1 month and a half for them to fix if it's still in warranty. However you're better off just buy new glides or replacing the mouse entirely.

synapse is honestly one of the worst software I have seen on the market, sorry bro I have had to uninstall and reinstall my razer multiple times in the past month. It refuses to auto update and doesnt recognise devices, my advice is try getting it running once then dont open it ever unless there are issues with the device

honestly unless they do something drastic to fix this I am never buying anymore razer products. I have spoken to tech support 2 times and they cant resolve anything. If you are running into device issues it is probably the driver, you can go into the windows device manager and install a different version of it then roll back to previous version. I have done this about 10 times in the past month to get my headset working. No idea why it works but it does

They sent me a new device for free and it still has the same issue. overall I would say very annoying, just bought what was meant to be a high quality product so I wouldnt have to worry about this

Synapse seems to be a big problem, when it open it will often cause some chain of events where my headset stops working and I have to start it all again

Hi I have a question. My Razer blackshark v2 + USB sound card headset arrived today. In general, I was satisfied, but when I turned up the volume from the headphones at full volume, the sound from the left side was louder than the right. There is no uneven in the sound settings.

Well it would definitely upset me as well. Normally synapses works for me unless I have damage file on pc or bad internet connection.

But I must say I had a few strange audio problems Dolby atoms windows sonic razer surround audio all did not help. It just sounded off. I know windows team was to investigate audio problems. Some thing is not correct at times. We even had video drivers come help use release correct audio drivers. To help fix problem.

Hi, I'm planning to pick up the Basilisk V3 pro & dock/receiver bundle. I already have a Viper V3 & I'm wondering if I can use the dock as a receiver for my Viper, while the Basilisk is charging? Or using the dock as a receiver is even possible with the Viper V3?

That’s a great question and let me see if I can navigate through with a viable solution based on my own basilisk ultimate & dock bundle experience-

So, as I would imagine the viper has, like my own basilisk, a Receiver pocket underneath it. The receiver can be put in the dock.

Likewise, I would think in theory it could be taken out and swapped out for a viper receiver. I’m not 100% sure on this but I’ll do some more research to ascertain its possibility.

The puck is only meant to be used as a magnetic charging connector for the Basilisk, my Viper doesn't have a space for the puck. There's documentation saying the dock can be used as a receiver for certain Razer wireless keyboard models as well, but doesn't say anything regarding if I can use other mice with it. So my Viper Mini SE scroll wheel does not work. Well scrolling works but pressing in as a button does not. Got the RMA all setup and approved and paid for the advanced replacement. Then come to find out they don't have ny in stock and will not for a while lol.
