Yeah, it never happens when I actually speak and I've never been able to reproduce the issue when testing the mic. I suppose our hearing isn't as sharp lol. It's not a major issue by any means, just an annoying one (for the friends, mostly)

Hey folks! I ordered a pair of Kraken V3 Pro's last night which should arrive today. I think the featureset seems really cool, and it has very strong reviews. However when I go on Reddit, I just see people talking about how bad it is. Wanted to ask anyone here who might own one - is this just normal Reddit salt? Is the headset good or bad? Just general thoughts.

I dislike wireless because the mics are always poor quality and imo bluetooth causes more trouble than it's worth. I have the wired kraken v3 and the sound quality is decent enough, it's comfortable to wear with my glasses and doesn't give me headaches. That's really all I ask out of a headset.

Yeah, for sure. I'm actually only going to use the mic when I use it with my Xbox which is rare. I have a Yeti Nano I use for my PC.

And weirdly, these do not have bluetooth.

It connects to a dongle that you plug in via USB.

But it also has wired options.

But it sounds like your experience with the V3 is more or less what I want - my main concern coming from a pair of turtle beaches is that I don't want dropped connections, which I guess is something you can't speak to.

For sure. On my turtle beaches I'd be sitting at my desk and they would just entirely lose connection sometimes. They'd cut out for a few minutes then just drop entirely. That's what I'm hoping to remedy.

FWIW I think my biggest gripe with these headphones is the software. Synapse is... not the greatest, and can be a bit finicky. You'll absolutely want to play around and move away from the default sound profile, for example, and it took me a bit of tinkering to find something I liked for the music I listen to (metal, mostly, sometimes soundtracks). Once I did it was fine and things sound decent. Just took a bit more fiddling than I was used to.

Fair enough and I appreciate the heads up. What kinds of games do you tend to play? I listen to punk normally and tend to play a lot of shooters, and if you do as well I'd be interested in seeing your EQ settings.

I mostly play old-schoolish MMOs. My current fix is Project: Gorgon but I played Aion before nc decided to destroy their own creation. Now I mostly stick to myself with the Witcher or Dragon Age.

From the original opening of preorders till now, all models of the razer edge were "marketed" to have 8gb. And as of now, after the device was officially released to the market, only the verizon version has the 8gb ram, with the comparison charts for the edge being updated.

The reason why i consider it a flop is because the device, up till now, had the best price to performance for any Android handheld. Now the thing has less ram, the soc is being read as a SD888, the sd card wont let you have files greater than 4gb due to formating (dont 100% know how that all works), the physical keys on the tablet wont let you shut the device down because holding the power button brings up google assistant by default, the volume keys are "reversed". And the funniest part is that, for a gaming handheld, it stutters while trying to run Minecraft at max settings.

Also, the 8gb ram version from Verizon is $10USD a month for 3 years, or $600USD flat out

Thank you! Yeah, that's bad. As for the 4gb sdcard, it's the memory card's filesystem. It's probably FAT32, it has that limitation. I think exfat doesn't, but not sure if the device would read an sdcard formatted as exfat. If you have the device, it might be worth giving it a try.

I don't use the Kraken's microphone (and I can't test as I literally just opened my Kraken to remove the microphone), but as far as I can remember, it was plug and play, yes. As long as the microphone is selected as the default one in sound settings.

Also, it could have gotten disconnected. If the headset is out of warranty, she can perhaps open it and check the cable going from the microphone to the headset's PCB. Although if it is disconnected, she would have to re-solder it to fix it.

Has anybody tried having two dongles for their wireless mouse, one for one computer and one for an alternative computer? The goal is to have one dongle in to my main computer, and then have another dongle for my alternative computer at my office. The alternative dongle would be very very far away from the main dongle, I'm just unsure if it'll work. I don't want to go through the pairing utility each time i swap computers.

I've uninstalled the drivers, uninstalled Synapse, tried all default methods

I'm at my mental end I'm ready to throw these goddamn headphones out of the window

My computer and headphones were doing that with Razer and with my personal. I use a 3D Driver called Boom. All I had to do was quit the driver and start it again, and it fixed on both headsets.

It ran fine now for many minutes until I launched the Razer installer to install Synapse, at which point it immediately disconnected. Then it fixed again when i closed the installer down.

synapse still shows me the option for it but i turned that off

sometimes after several pc restarts the headphones connect and get their lighting setting from synapse and work perfectly, until the pc is turned off and then on again at which point the bollocks start all over again

Synapse needs major audio updates THX is just a standard testing company not sound option. Spatial audio is windows custom dac settings don't try to adjust dac settings if using it.

Also razer should hopefully updating to 9.1 audio for headset some time this year hopefully

On my headphones it's baked into Synapse. But point being Synapse takes control and uses its own audio driver usually. If you click on your sound settings, you should be able to change them to different drivers. Maybe give that a try.

In theory, you'll want a drive that doesn't know the name of the headphones maybe. Idk, click on the different sound options to see if it helps at all.

Alternatively, you could try using Boom, and then selecting Boom and selecting the device within Boom. That's what I do. Works better than Windows' options 80% of the time

The THX ones have no sound, 24G2... is my monitor's speakers, and Sound Blaster is my sound card which i use for 5.1 speakers

You could try using a cheap DAC like the Apple USB-3.5mm DAC and see if it'll work in that. Razer's DACs aren't all that great anyway.

Dang. Yeah, unless you find like a USB to USB DAC, you're kind of stuck with Synapse. I'd call Razer support and let them know. They'll do a full reinstall for you, but if that doesn't work you'll probably need a replacement.

Every time I use razer for my swapped keys, they stick in the software so to fix it I have to repress it to make it unstick which can be annoying if I need immediate release and press on my keys and not to have it hold down on the key for no reason.

Also, the battery life is terrible when unplugged, any way to fix that?

Oof never got ping weird but, the only way I can think of is to set it as a turbo key so it spams Idk if there is a way to make it stick. I know the older razer synapse has a recording feature so you just press Q then stop the recording and I think you can just set it as a hold press or somewhere in the keyboar options.

i have the Basilisk X hyperspeed and in less then a year my left click is about to give out and my scroll wheel no longer works. when i try to scroll it jumps everything around in games and when i am scrolling websites it makes the pages jump up and down.
