@acoustic trout 4gb of vram is enough for 1080p, but I know there are some specific games that need more. gpu is one of the easier parts to install yeah, there are videos on the process. I assume the “gooey” stuff you are referring to is the thermal paste. If you are using the stock cooler, it comes preapplied, just make sure to apply even pressure on the cooler for an even application

Yes specs wise like 300Hz (vs144Hz) and 1Tb ssd Omen is better, but build quality blade 15 is far better. Not sure about screen quality, like response time and brightness on base 2020 but on my 2018 15 advanced it blows other competitors, dave2d was also recommending this for gaming and content creator, he use in fact that as main driver laptop apparently. HP Omen 2020 has made a good improvement over previous model but still I don’t like like the logo and huge gap between keyboard and screen on 2020 model.
