ram latency is typically lower with lower speeds, because you can push the timings much tighter at a lower speed. system latency depends on a lot of things, but honestly I feel like ram doesn't affect felt latency much if at all.

running out of ram will cause your system to start using your storage as ram, which is horrible for performance. if you're actively running out of ram, more slow ram is still significantly faster than running out of ram.

if it's running in gear 4, the imc will be running at 1200mhz in that case (4800/4). for contrast, if you're running at 6400mt/s in gear 2 (easily doable), the imc would be running at 1600mhz (3200/2). we know that running in a higher ratio hurts performance because the imc isn't running as often, the hope is that the bandwidth benefit from running at a higher speed outweighs the performance hit of running a higher ratio.

CPU performance is better than arrow lake for multi core, but it's very similar for single core, which is the important number for gaming. we'll see how the faster ram affects performance.

that depends on what perfect audio is for you. audio is largely based on preference.

if you look at this graph of the nari ultimate, you'll see that the bass is boosted like crazy and it's lacking mids and treble. I'd recommend reducing bass and upping mid and treble frequencies

except 10khz, it doesn't look to be lacking at that specific treble frequency for some reason

I enjoy a few audio software packages. Worked with one team i got audio software packages in humble bundle. But didn't support 32 bit audio at the time. I got them hardware they made software updates it was very useful for some stuff but I agree the audio software should be need for good standard audio. Kind of spatial audio project idea. Should work with out needing to be adjusted but I think its still being worked on. A few times it has worked well. But lots of the time still with some games not happy.

Well lots of the information looks good but nothing about thunderbolt and usb gen 2 that's slower then industry standards available seem strange. Does it support new 4 GPU standards and 100 Watts low power mode looks like no. Seems strange but I guess it does need low power mode in desktop you can just turn it off. But be nice to see if always on as a server.

At this point I'm more interested in Intel new 44 core and 52 core with new technology for home work station. If I'm playing 3d games I bet it will be with steam VR headset. But I'm sure AMD new cpu will be great for people using cheaper VR options streaming games

Thunderbolt its own company. Just like usb built before computers then used in computers. Then after usb was out for a while they said we can not make connection work no matters what. if you put it in upside down. It will get damage the pins need to line up. The power and ground need to line up.

So we fixed that next making thunderbolt it detects connection and makes changes as fast as a thunderbolt to setup correctly.

For a while now my PC has been having issues with my peripherals DC (mouse, Headset, External drive, webcam, keyboard) and i managed to track the issue down to my mouse causing the failures. I used USBDview and USBLogView to see what was DC at once and no matter what port it was plugged into my PC it always started with my mouse. Im not sure the order of the things ive done to attempt to fix it so im just gonna list them now here. Ive fac reset 3x, resintalled windows, Updated bios, Updated all drivers, Tried a diff razor mouse, Changed power settings in device manager, Restarted at least 100x since then, Deleted/Updated/Disabled my mouse in device manager, Went thru the settings of everything in device manager and found every product ID that matched my mouse and Deleted/Updated/Disabled them as well, Shut my pc off for a whole day (dumb idea ik) and finally just deleted the razor app. the ONLY thing that did anything was deleting the razor app, Now my mouse still DC but its more like one every 30m instead of 5m. All my peripherals stay connected without the app installed, But a new issue happens now. Randomly one every 2m my mouse stops responding for 5ish seconds. Cant move it, Cant click, Cant do anything with it. Then suddenly its just back and working, didnt make a DC sound or anything. PLEASUHHHH help a man out its making me so mad i cant fix it myself with everything ive tried.

something like the Linsoul Zero 2 is a great starter iem, not crazy pricey at $25. might be a bit sharp sounding for you depending on your preference though.

there's tons and tons of options

the main brand I'd be wary of is KZ. they have some good stuff, but their build quality tends to be iffy, and they've been caught swapping drivers after a few months multiple times (basically they change the driver, changing the sound, in order to save money. however, this is after reviews are already out usually, so there's a chance you get something that sounds very different to what was reviewed a few months ago)

spent 3 weeks reverse engineering my BlackShark V3 just to find out the firmware is literally allergic to linux + maybe intended features that didnt make it to the final product

ok so I have a blackshark V3 . love the hardware. synapse is a 400mb electron app that autostarts on boot and sometimes forgets the headset is plugged in, so I thought, fine, I'll just write my own little tool to control it on linux.

I captured every byte of every command synapse sends. EQ, sidetone, battery, THX, mic mute, the whole thing. wrote a clean python library. tested it on windows first - works perfectly. battery percentage, button events, EQ readback, all of it, ran literaly the same python code on linux. every command I send goes through (THX audibly toggles, EQ writes work, sidetone changes). but the headset will not send a single byte back. ever. no battery readout, no button events, no nothing. the IN endpoint just sits there empty forever.

I've been at this for two weeks. same hidapi. same bytes leaving the machine, verified at the USB level. same init handshake. same everything. the firmware just refuses to talk back to linux. it's not the protocol, it's not permissions, it's not drivers, it's not openrazer, it's not the cable. somewhere inside the headset is a chip that looks at the host and decides "no battery for you" specifically when the host isn't windows.

I can SET things all day. the headset just won't answer questions. Even the hardware buttons are gated. on windows pressing the EQ cycle button fires a USB packet. on linux that button might as well not exist. the firmware filters its own buttons depending on the OS. that's the part that broke me.

so my $100 headset works on linux as long as I don't ask it anything. If anyone from razer is in here, I'm not asking for full support, I'll write the driver myself, I just want to know what your firmware is sniffing for. it's clearly not in the protocol because I have every byte synapse sends. it's something at the USB enumeration level. tell me what to mimic and I'm gone.

Otherwise the path forward is apparently to run a windows VM with USB passthrough so I can know the battery is at 60%. which is a sentence that should not exist. Even if I DID DO THAT THE APP DOESNT WORK UNDER A VM EVEN WITH PASSTHROUGH.

I have reverse engineered the entirety of synapses blackshark v3 module I have found out things that I shouldnt even know. Like how there is a mention of an oled screen in the blackshark v3 and v3 pro module or similar haptics to the kraken ultimate these were never actually implemented into the final product but I assume they wanted to add it to v3 pro in the parser that handles the v3 and v3 pro project name as well billie t1 or something.

I know razer doesnt care about their linux users and wont help me but Im just wondering who the hell did the firmware for this god forsaken device because I have alot to say ive been going crazy. Thought I would share my shenaningans

hmm well the issue is definetly with the hedset firmware I completely got rid of synapse and made a hidapi driver and ran it on both linux and windows but no response on linux sending exact same usb traffic the device just sends nothing back on linux

synapse has no support on linux its all community made reverse engineered the device uses standard usb hid
