Can someone DM with an answer to this situation, I have a Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro, and Razer Basilisk V3 Pro, here is my situation, I have the lighting set up for custom lighting with them and whenever I go into a game they revert back to out of the box lighting. How do I set it up to where as they always are on custom lighting? Also, it sometimes reverts back to out of the box lighting while I am out of game as well, mainly the keyboard and becomes unresponsive, it types letters all at once. I think I found the problem without finding the issue specifically. I was too busy looking at the temperatures that I never even looked at the clock speed. I realized that it’s running at full clock (4600 MHz) as soon as AC power was plugged in. 45 watts. It would never go below. Same problem if I restarted and opened Core Temps without any other program being opened.

I’m doing a full reset again. I will update you along the way

its not broken its just damaged, it still works fine aside from the fact the space bar wont always stay on but it goes back on and works fine, the missing keys can still function thankfully without it (like the L key)

As it says, it has a jack 3.5mm, it's designed for an Xbox Controller. You can still connect it to your PC only if you have an audio splitter.

Usually, headsets for PC has a jack 3.5mm but it splits it in 2 parts, microphone and audio, the headset you are asking has 1 jack 3.5mm that has microphone and audio. Some laptops has one input for one jack 3.5mm, so it will work.

If you want it for PC, I recommend you to buy an audio splitter, but be adviced it can cause some problems with compatibility. You can't also use Razer Synapse, Razer Synapse is only available for USB output peripherals.

are your drivers up to date? how are your temps looking? if you don't have a way to monitor temps, install something like hwinfo. you seem opposed to opening it, so if you've never cleaned it, it might be overheating. Hey all, hope this is a good channel to reach out for general PC problems not Razer related, but I’m in desperate need of some answers for a RAM problem I’m having.

I’m running a Ryzen 7 7800x3D processor, an MSI B650 Mag Tomahawk WiFi motherboard, and a (2x16) GSkill Trident Z5 Neo DDR5-6000 (with product code F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5NR).

I wanted to increase my RAM capacity so I bought the same kit (another 2x16) on Amazon, with the exact same product code as listed above. Initially, I plopped them in the correct DIMM slots alongside my old kit (that still works) and power went on but no boot (DIMM light came on red on the EZ Debug on mobo). I said okay, I’ll take out the old pair entirely and replace them with the 2 new ones in the “First” DIMM slots (proper order/placement was correct throughout). Still no boot. Then I put one good one on the primary slot if you only have one DIMM, and a new one on the secondary slot. No boot. With that I assumed the new kit I bought was defective/DOA.

Just got another kit from the refund, and same exact thing happened. No boot with the new sticks (even w/out old sticks in there), and I did the same exact testing I did previously, and no luck. But still it will boot just fine with the old pair in the slots they were originally in. Weirdly enough I tried testing only one of the old DIMMs and that didn’t boot by itself. Only when I had in both old DIMMS did it boot.

I turned off EXPO in BIOS and it still remains off, since I’ve seen that others were having no-boot problems when all 4 DIMMs were installed (on the same mobo), and some said that the mobo can’t handle 4 at 6000MHz. Though the mobo specs says it can. (These are all single rank 1R sticks btw)

Just an update I had the new ram sticks in there to do one more test and it wasn’t booting again, but I was pretty flustered so I let it sit while the PC was on for like ~8 mins and the debug light went away, it’s green now. Currently running a mem test, but maybe I was doing the tests too quick. I was giving it about 1-2 mins while doing the tests and if nothing I’d just turn it off and do another test

hey! memory training on Ryzen 7000 take a long time, sometimes upwards of 20 minutes even. this is normal, ESPECIALLY with more than 2 sticks. if you're having issues with stability, down clock your ram. the Ryzen 7000 memory controller is very weak, and will most likely struggle to run 4 16gb sticks at 6000mhz. Ryzen 7000 typically doesn't like having 4 sticks.

of course you might have no issues, the silicon lottery plays a role here. if it booted, don't worry about it unless you have programs crashing and/or windows crashes.

mag tomahawk wifi is a perfectly fine motherboard and is NOT the limiting factor here, if anything is limiting stuff it's your CPU.

@storm umbra also keep in mind that the motherboard listed supported memory speeds are based on best case scenarios, 4 sticks totalling 64gb at 6000mhz is quite challenging for your CPU and is definitely not a best case scenario.

to be clear, memory training will look like the dram debug light being on with a black screen. might reboot a few times, and you'll never see anything until it finishes. most systems only take a few minutes to do this, Ryzen 7000 is weird.

Wow, thank you so much that was a lot of great and helpful information! That was most definitely the issue, me only giving it like 1-2 mins per test and just turning it off if it didn’t boot. I ended up getting 3 sticks to work, and now I’m doing a mem test with 4 but at least it did boot. Also, I think my old sticks were running at 4800MHz (I think this is the base clock) when I checked in BIOS, and I’ve been comfortable with that. Do you think the 4x16 at that speed would minimize crashing and instability?

4800mhz should work fine, 5200mhz should also work, and 5600mhz might work. it'll be a bit slower, but it'll run. if it has multiple overclock profiles built in, you can try a lower speed profile.

regardless, the x3d CPUs are less sensitive to ram performance than their non-x3d counterparts, so your performance shouldn't be hurt too much. 7800x3d is a phenomenal CPU no matter what.

I should probably say that I'm leaving some details and information out. generally, JEDEC spec speeds (minimum ddr5 speeds up to 5600mhz @1.2v) are designed to be stable regardless of configuration and environment. part of this is absolutely silicon lottery, your CPU may or may not have a good enough memory controller to handle higher speeds with 4 sticks, it's not really possible to say without testing. good news is that unless you manually crank voltages too high, you can't really damage anything. at worst, it just won't boot and will send you back to bios.

idk how much time you want to spend on this. your ram kit and/or motherboard may or may not include JEDEC ram configurations. I'd suggest trying to see if you can get a 5600mhz cl46 profile working (if that's available) or something, but running it at lower speeds won't do anything bad besides just a bit less performance.

if you want, you can try doing manual tuning, but that's mostly brute force trial and error (while using settings within reason) and seeing what's stable and what isn't.
