I think you are looking at it wrong.
Just imagine your monitor as a screen without a heart. If you plug your laptop into the monitor the monitor will show ONLY what the laptop is showing, it will not take "specs" or play games inside of it, the laptop is going to do that work and the monitor will only visually show whatever it's on your laptop.
