@simple oyster one thing I noticed the performance gap between two desktop GPUs in terms of core count and VRAM capacity, especially 5080 and 5090. For me the gap is too big even for more affordable 4K max ray tracing and HDR. I mean would it be better to use the same GB202 die but heavily cutdown the SM/CUDA core count to exactly middle between 5080 and 5090, and use 384-bit GDDR7 interface, and 3GB die to make 36GB VRAM capacity? Or 320-bit 30GB? I mean would this provisional RTX5080Ti work well and compliant with 3A090b regulations? Thoughts?

I think those cards are two new yet and they will get better with bios and drivers update for most stuff. I know when I got access to them we need a few higher level programmers to help make adjustments to game bios and drivers before we could do any testing. From my anecdotal experience if you have the proof of purchase you might be able to get them to play ball. They helped me with my secondhand tomahawk ATX the best they could despite it being out of warranty
