For me, future gaming laptop charging would be better if next revision of USB-C could go for even higher voltage than 48V, and higher current like just double or 50% increase to 7.5 amps or 10 amps. Thunderbolt allows more power but still don't think it will be better then dedicated plug for power or charging.
