You can power a few off the raspberry pi. But a separate power supply setup helps a lot.

there is a trick where if you put a paper clip it powers up all the fans and the rgb and evreything

Well I'm not sure depend they might be short pins to get more power. But most raspberry pi power supply only leave 1 amp for the extra pins they were meant to be use to just turn stuff off and on not run stuff.
