There really isn't a true "3d" sound. You only have 2 ears though software CAN make it sound more convincing but usually the best surround sound is the one implemented in the game itself. The only thing that'll help with sounding more "3d" is the size of the soundstage itself

Definitely not happy with options in software for screen choices for hz ratings. For a long time now. What do you do if you have 60 hz laptop screen but want to use 120 hz or 144 hz monitor. Does not work in windows well also. You can install monitor drivers it helps

Playing a game will stress your cpu so it might be lagging because of that which is unlikely but not impossible

You could try running the simplest game you have and see if it happens. Otherwise I'm not sure why it would only happen on games besides the system just stressing
