My next thinking is in regards of future of Fortnite when provisional chapter x (ten) arrives as 10 year anniversary of the battle royale core mode. I mean selling hardware at positive profit margin is possible, so as software and subscription service recurring payments. Me, I think a fully closed ecosystem would still be helpful in software development in general, in the way Apple controls everything from architecture all the way to software distribution, service payment, and hardware-software coherence, and in the age of environmental friendliness concerns, I made a sense of performance while running on battery becoming more important than the past. I can feel boredom when two consecutive Black Ops in two years. I mean it would be nice to see more alternative theme possibilities while retaining the core gameplay of CoD? I mean would it be better if IW-Sledgehammer joint team handle something in original after MW reboot? Or something else like battle over Greek Life in college?

I used to play them across multiple platforms for a while, when Advanced Warfare on XB1, BO3, Infinite Warfare on PC, BO2 on XB360 and PS3, MW3 and MW2, MW remastered on many things. But also played BF3, 4, 1, V, and BF-BC2 as well. I mean tired of consecutive Black Ops in two years and need totally fresh one to entice me return. Warzone built on success of battle royale mode of BO4. I mean it would be nice if Sledgehammer try a fresh one to be themed around Greek life in college, aka fraternities and sororities? Thoughts?

Or some more spiritual successor to highly successful Advanced Warfare?

Maybe future Battlefield and CoD ones should be sort of fresh take, spiritual successor to Hardline and Ghosts respectively?

That’s why it would be nice to leverage latest Battlefield tech (2025 version of Frostbite engine) to do something fresh, be a nonlinear single player FPS + ARPG hybrid campaign in the way Metroid Prime does?
