#Hex Tile with Hex Grid

So I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve, but I guess this right here?
So it'd be good to know what the process is when you import them.
@gaunt pine
That would be it! I've just been importing them as a hex shaped tile (they have a back image for exploration); maybe something is getting messed up in photoshop when I add other things on top of that base image...
Well, I tried both Tile and Token
The Token one is the optimal one for this because it does not get the black border, but you should make sure to always remove any borders even if they are transparent.
But it depends on your use case whether Token is sufficient.
Ah you mention they have a back, then Tiles are the way.
This is what you get with your image.
Yeah, initially they had the extra space. But I trimmed that off; but when I did, they no longer lined up.
That's the best I was able to make it look, but when you start trying to make them all interlock as normal, it gets...bad.
Do I need to redo the hexagon to have it stretch to the edges of a square canvas, even though that will probably look a bit off? Or, for that matter, is there a specific aspect ratio I should be making the tiles at to make them line up?
I'm not that much into trigonometry
But I think that might be the only way?
I'm trying it myself right now
You want to be able to rotate it in any way and still interlock with each others lines
So either the template I'm using is not a true regular hexagon or my photoshop does odd things to it
I hate making grids, maybe there's someone more competent ๐
Right there with you...
That's why I'm trying to make a semi-gridless game/dungeon crawler
Which I need to test the concept at some point to see if it makes sense at all ๐ค
@bright mango Thanks for the help, finally figured out a(n annoying) solution. Apparently the source file needs to be a perfect square for TTS to load it in properly; my tiles were slightly skewed. It'll all be ok, but I've got to stretch all my images in weird ways. Oh well.
