#Environment Zones

doing this with zones would be cool
Haha yeah came to look to see if someone had made this suggestion as I just thought about it and glad to see someone did only one day ago too :P
Being able to have dynamic indoor and outdoor lighting is a major plus for this, but also being able to have different biomes and environments within one world, like snowy mountains or forests, but temperate beaches with lots of sun
I'd go one step further, instead of just having like, zones or whatever, what if it was instead logic gates that, when receiving an input, would change the environment. if you connect an entity input to say, a touch zone brick being used as an invisible trigger that gets the player that triggered it, you can choose to make the change clientside, or if you leave the entity slot empty, it'll make it serverwide when triggered.
both is good!
i think while having it setup for wiring is incredibly handy and very configurable
being able to just setup simple zones with environment changes is far more accessible
especially if players may want to use lots of these to perhaps give the interiors of buildings different environments
an important thing for this as well would be being able to choose what is kept from the default world environment and what the zone replaces
for example, being able to have the weather and time of day stay the same but the zone changes the ambience and the lighting

Environment zones are apparently not super in consideration. They are considering tbis. Please upvote, because it would provide similar things to environment zones and is already somewhat under considered.
Definitely still want environment zones. Separate worlds couldn’t handle windows/seeing people outside that area which is a bummer
Wait, why would you news seperate environments for the inside of a building?
Oh, wait, I see
For fun. You could use monochrome fog environments for rooms or something
I really want it for outside stuff tho
Actually, not sure if you can really
Weather collides with bricks
We'd have to test
But I guess idk if they would have to replicate what it looked like from the outside
Which is probably the hardest part because it’s not just global environment
I mean, environment zones probably would take the form of a client side global environment
Which is what they don't want
A lot of stuff can't really be done easily for making each zone function distinctly
Regardless, upvoting it would still grant something to help with builds like that. And it's more likely to be implemented
a cool suggestion but not the same suggestion, it doesn't work as an alternative to what is being asked for i feel
i would also like to see where devs have said they wouldn't want something like this?
being able to have different weather, fog, sky, and especially Ambience is a very cool thing to be able to do
different biomes of land and such

CaCR posted the link. Anyways, the multi world servers would probably be the most possible thing to happen
aw thats a shame, i think its just a very fun idea especially as some of the settings available in the environment editor would be nice to change in a single world
ah well
Agreed
