Enemy: Taskmaster

A Tyrannical Blockoid Overseer who commands legions of lesser Blockoids in battle. They wield a plasma whip capable of stunning foes.

Behavior: Will spawn with 10 Blockoid Peons, weak Blockoids who wield small Plasma Swords. Every 5-10 seconds the Taskmaster will spawn 2 more Blockoid Peons. While there are nearby Blockoid Peons all turrets will prioritize Blockoid Peons over the Taskmaster. While alive all Blockoids on the map receive increased movement speed. The Taskmaster has a short ranged attack where they lash out with an energy whip, on hit they stun the target for a short period of time.

Health: High
Damage: Moderate
Range: Short
Speed: Moderate

Enemy: Dreadnought

A heavily armored and ancient blockoid that is nearly impervious from the front. Armed with plasma missiles and highly destructive gauntlets, a Dreadnought is capable of sieging the most heavily defended fortifications by themselves.

Behavior: Will sometimes stop to fire off a volley of 6 plasma missiles that travel fairly quickly and deal moderate damage with half armor piercing alongside slight aoe. On melee the Dreadnought’s will create an explosion that deals heavily increased damage alongside massive knockback to nearby units in a big radius. This blast wave would have a lengthy cooldown.

Armor: High, takes no frontal damage.
HP: High
Damage: High (fists) Moderate (missiles)
Speed: Slow

Enemy: Mindbender

A Blockoid scholar capable of puppeteering lesser beings, forcing others to fight for them.

Behavior: Will only target players or enemy units. Upon entering attack range of a non-player unit, will mind control”the target unit and up to 9 others in a sizeable radius. Will repeat this process every 10-15 seconds. Mind controlled units act as if they are allied to the Blockoids. Upon death all mind controlled units return to their normal faction affiliation.

HP: Moderate
Damage: Moderate/Low (similar to illusionist)
Range: Medium/Long
Speed: Moderate

All Blockoids have 50 health except for the Boss and their HP is mostly focused on Shields so I think it's the shield that should be used here in terms of stats.

I needed to say HP due to the character limit

Nice to see more ideas for the blockoids How much health would a blockoid peon have relative to a warrior?

Probably less

#

They’re basically crappy warriors with melee weapons.

#

Meant to represent lower Blockoid caste members.

#

The peons are mostly to get the Taskmaster up close so they can start stunning turrets, while the Taskmaster can continue to provide movement speed to all other Blockoids. It’s particularly potent with the other new units, the Dreadnought and Mindbender, alongside existing units like the Spirit Walker.

I definitely see some overlap.

#

Dreadnoughts are definitely the worst (to deal with) given most siege based enemies are annoying. Comparing this with the current fire bearer that already has high intensive energy shields, unless there is multiple factions, instant hit on decent defenses.

That is somewhat intentional. The Taskmaster is supposed to be a divergence from the original Blockoid formula, so if you aren’t prepared to deal with cannon fodder on the Blockoid side you might have a bad time. They’re more of a support unit since they stun turrets and buff allied movement speed, which can totally make them dangerous with the Dreadnought.

#

The Dread itself is mostly meant to be dealt with by allied units or the player. Or simply by having a spread out defense.

They’ve been pretty solid in countering the sieger units.

blockoid peons defeat the whole "small in number but extremely powerful" I guess illusionists kinda do, but that's just magic, not actual blockoids.

It does yes, but at the same time that’s also the point. It’s a bunch of lower cast members being thrown into battle with no care for their lives.

#

Supposed to spice up the Blockoid front with fodder which you might not be prepared to handle if you are just stacking high damage weapons to punch through shields.

#

I suppose the new revealed Knight unit fills the niche of cheap fodder esque unit and Dreadnought style siege.
