#Some old areas got corrupted, newest and very old ones ok, cloud state broken

I just found out that some of my old campaign areas got corrupted somehow while the most recent playthrough (of Saher) is fine and some much older worlds/areas as well. While trying to figure out what happened, apparently my cloud save got corrupted as well, as also the Saher save is now always in the "place barracks" state that I aready had some time ago (deleting everything and just loading the cloud does not work as well as just starting online or starting offline and getting online again while playing). So it appears there are still some things wrong with both saving and cloud sync. Was I think all with the May 25th version.

I have a version history of the saves that probably show the (partial) corruption, with old states still having working versions of that areas while newer ones do not - how should I send it to you best? The old saves are not very important to me, but I would like to recover the most recent one if possible (it is working when playing offline), so I probably again need your support overwriting the existing cloud save - nevertheless, the corruption thing should probably be figured out... Found this out while trying to link my account with the Android version (which failed, but that's another story for the mobile bugs section).

However, rebuilding from scratch in hard mode wave 19 with 400 gold and 100-ish minerals is quite a fun challenge (as I just had to finish wave 20, otherwise, well...)

sorry about that (yet again), and for the delay.

can you share your full setup? meaning, are you playing on multiple devices, and going back and forth?

No problem - we also do not have to overwrite saves, the area 2 saves are not very meaningful anyway and I still completed wave 20, but was a fun challenge to start over randomly 🤣 (but nothing I would want in like wave 35 or something :D)
Ok, full setup, I'll do this a little more extensively so I can point back to this for potential future problems:
PC 1: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, 96GB RAM, dual boot Arch Linux (using Steam Play/Proton) + Windows 11 (normal Steam)
PC 2: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070, 96GB RAM, same OS setup
Mobile: Sony XQ-DE54 (Xperia 5 V) with Android 15, no special stuff except using work profile via Insular (but can also install the app on the "normal" part of the phone if there ever is a problem related to this)
Networking: I have some DNS/advertisement blocklists active (PiHole, pfBlocker NG) as well as Wireguard VPNs on the phone if I'm not home etc. - in theory there could be problems related to this but I guess most things should be just reachable or unreachable and nothing in-between, but who knows
For sync between the PCs I additionally have a Git repo in place where I usually pull the latest state before starting the game (as not having the latest one already caused problems in the past)
(potential) Mobile 2: Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, nothing special

I am not exactly sure but for the corrupt saves described above I think I exclusively played on one of the PCs under Linux all the time, maybe I also switched between PC 1 and 2 (as this was the time before I had beta access I am pretty sure mobile was not involved yet). So I think it is not solely a PC <-> Mobile issue but something deeper. However, when I last tried I could pretty reliably corrupt a save (i.e., progress on an area) by loading it on on mobile and then on PC or vice versa (I think). I then still have the wave, gold etc. but the environment is reset and I am asked to place my barracks as if only metadata is synced and not the world data. Another potential thing that might have an impact here is trying the beta versions, maybe there was some back and forth about that (although I think it was not, but not sure). When a save is corrupt and I open it again afterwards it also gives me an error message that the last time there was an error loading that map.

For Android I can unfortunately not really do the git stuff as Andoid security now enforces these scopes for apps and prevents one more or less from seeing application data except for the application you run (bad for file explorers...), without root at least

#

TLDR: Going back and forth pretty much always corrupts saves, but apparently sole PC use as well, at least at that time.

If you wanna have the repo of the different saves I can zip it and send it to you if that helps, maybe you can determine then what's missing more easily (but I probably should not post it here as the save may contain "sensitive" information like secret keys/IDs?)
