#singles or album first

You don't want to unload everything you have when first starting out. Releasing things over time gives you the ability to have more content to use for promotion.
release every song in the album as a single/use the waterfall strategy (release song 1, then release song 2 & song 1, then song 3 2 and 1 etc). until you have an audience the more singles the better. it increases the number of algorithmic lottery tickets you get and lets you do consistent sustained promotion over a full year. If it's a 10 song album and you do one single a month you promote it for an entire year and build up your audience over time so by the time the full album releases there's more than 2 people to hear it (in theory)
I think always do singles, especially if you don't play live. This lets you judge the public reaction to each single, learn from it, and later do more of what works and less of what doesn't work.
like you lose nothing by releasing every song first as a single and the album later, and have a lot to gain
1 or 2 singles was only a thing because physical distribution costs money
but with modern digital distribution there's nothing to lose
can you explain in details this waterfall strategy pls?

hi, how long should you wait between releases? for example after the release of song 1, how long after you release song 1 and 2 together? is it optional?
