#blender rookie back at it

So I've been creating a low poly scene in Blender today, that has fire in it, like a campfire
I'm pretty happy with the result, but whenever I try to render it the images appear really noisy
If I turn down the noise threshold thing it doesn't change much
If I use the Blender denoising tool it does an acceptable work, but it takes forever and it makes me fear for the computer's life
So here is my question: do you guys have any denoising techniques that work pretty fast when rendering? And that wouldn't make my computer explode?
(I can't join pics of the project rn, maybe tomorrow but not sure)

note: only 150 frames, rendering in Cycles

tl;dr : denoising issues in Blender

I agree I didn't read everything...

thats why I put a tl;dr
so only people who have actually used blender would read the entire thing

My grandma use blender

Not that kind of blender...

oh

#

depends on what your computer is

#

dw denoising aint gonna kill your beloved rig

#

If the noise is too high even with 4000 samples there's 2 things to do

#

1 is to try an optimize noise and stuff and 2 is to render lots more samples and take 10 hours to render

#

tbh i never had such issues with noise

#

I use optix denoiser for the viewport, cuz I have an optix gpu

#

I would need pics of the noise to see what's wrong

I can't really send pics rn cause my dad uses the computer all week since he works from home
Maybe tonight I'll be able to send pics, idk

#

Thank you tho
I'll try to use more samples and we'll see

#

okay so i FINALLY was able to get my hands on the computer

#

so here's what it looks like with 256 samples and 0.1 noise threshold

#

deactivated adaptive sampling, now the noise is a bit better but still not satisfying and it takes forever to render

#

ignore the fact that the front log is basically floating

#

esp the left background tree looks awful

#

You mean the noise overall or the dark (black) spots in the fire?

#

I think it's good tho, denoiser should be able to handle it

#

However

#

256 samples is sooo little

#

Usually renders are done at a minimum of 1024

#

You say it's taking forever to render, maybe you're rendering with the cpu instead of your gpu, make sure you render with gpu

thanks btw

You do know that a sample in cycles is basically one light ray that bounces as many times as you let it to bounce right?

#

That's why 256 gets noisy

unique sandal
#

i did not know that actually
that makes sense now lmaoo

no idea what's happening with the grass tho (like the plane, not the little cone things)

sturdy quarry
#

the grass is doing that weird thing cause there's too much noise in the images

#

when rendering each frame has a noise level

#

and that noise is kinda random

#

so when you put it together it kinda does that weird moving thing
