Also out of curiosity, is it that contractor role for Talewind or whatever?

I'm tailoring my CV specifically for a company that specialises in Roblox game development with TypeScript. Do you think there's anything that could be improved here? It's very similar to TypeScript game development. I would create a second version that I'd use to apply for non-roblox jobs. Also got a little space to fill at the bottom.

i'd consider describing the projects in bullet point format too, and definitely drop the "i tried"

I don't think I've ever seen bullet points on projects before, what do you think it should cover?

well if using paragraphs like that is common in the roblox world (no clue) then probably keep it, just that seems to be the norm for applications

proven plume

I'm just treating it like a regular application for the most part

#

I have no idea what's normal for a roblox application haha, just winging it

you could look at what other people have posted in this thread or just general info, but usually projects seem to be presented in a similar way as your professional experience is

ok that makes sense 🙂

if u look at yeah everyone elses resume and u can see people use bullet points

#

nobody generally wants to read a paragraph of information. Especially recruiters who for larger companies dont have time to do that anyway

proven plume
#

That's fair enough

#

Does it seem pretty good otherwise?

pulsar orbit
#

not really no. I will have a better idea on things when you make the appropriate changes. Can also remove “references available on request”

Okay guys I looked at some responses to other submissions. Hopefully this is a bit better. Personally I think the personal projects section is too big but I'm not sure what else I could put.

“Used regularly throughout my projects” just not a strong bullet at all

proven plume
#

😅

pulsar orbit
#

“SOLID componenet based architecture” not a strong bullet either

“Implemented SOLID architecture to increase reusability and maintainability of the project” or something

#

1st bullet in ur experience is also just not reslly strong either IMO. Saying you contributed but not really saying what or how you contributed (in the same bullet) doesnt really tell anybody anything

#

ur last bullet is to english/conversational

#

in experience

#

“Created unit tests for features using JUnit and Mockito, increasing total branch coverage by 15%”

proven plume
#

mmm I see

pulsar orbit
#

“Utilises part caching…”

Utilises is spelled incorrectly and i would use a different word anyway. “Integrated part caching to..”

proven plume
#

UK spelling hehe

#

that makes sense though I get what you mean

pulsar orbit
#

gotcha

#

i wish i had uk accent

so instead of "Contributed towards 5 games, two of which have been released with over a million daily bets." do you think it would be better to say something along the lines of "Main developer on online slot game ‘XYZ’ which launched to 1.75 million daily bets and continues to generate over £2,000 profit daily."

pulsar orbit
#
  • “Created online slots game using Java, Spring, HTML, and Postgres”
  • “Launched the slot game to..”
