dont need the (ongoing)
your AI startup bullet points arent super clear to someone not in AI so maybe try to use more understandable words?
"enterprise-level" feels like fluff
Yah I was asking my supervisor how I can quantify an ongoing project and she mentioned that while she can’t really give a figure for how many users it’s intended for, i can just put “enterprise level use”
Even if it’s courses I’ve yet to complete?
Ah okay! I’ll try using broader terms then
like you cant mention the userbase size?
Maybe summarizing the first point as computing bias metrics + mention tools used
Yah
Just bc they’re in the middle of wrapping up contracts so she couldn’t give a good estimate
you could give a broad range idk, are we talking like 10 or 1000 users/companies
enterprise level could be just 1 company idk
hmmm well i guess theyll be complete by the time u do the internship though?
Hm well ik credit suisse is a confirmed client
Should I mention them by name then?
Cant really say much now but they’re all comparable to credit suisse ig? And I think there’s roughly 5 companies of that size?
is it a thing that targets banks/finance industry?
i still feel like it doesn't say much about the startup but i guess they're trusted by big companies i guess?
Yah!
Basically automates model risk management
ok well you can maybe say its used by some companies in that industry i guess
Tbh it’s my first time in this sort of industry so I’ve been struggling to create the bullet points since im not really sure what terminology is unique to the company and what’s globally recognized
Ah okay! Will do
yeah im just saying to write something thats not too technical because recruiters usually arent really technical
i mean you should get pass the screening for something like amazon for sure
Hope so lol
Anything else I could improve on?
I had a few ppl suggest adding more bullets so that there’s consistently 3 bullets per work xp and also include verbs for projects like I did in the work xp section
Thoughts?
id put more bullets in your exp and less in your projects
but verbs in projects is good yeah
waterloo people are built diff you should have no problem ahahah
Okay sounds good! So remove societies and add more bullets under work xp?
😭 hence why I’m honestly really worried it’s wishful thinking to aim for well known companies for my second coop
i dont know how societies are important or not but they do show your involvement in things
i maybe would remove a project instead? maybe remove some courses?
i mean it depends on your standards i guess i got a well known company with way less but it wasnt like the same level as faang or something
Yah that makes sense. I usually end up seeing maybe 3 projects max on resumes anyways
Oh I see! Any general advice u can lend then?
i got lucky probably ahahahha
No I’m sure u earned it!
Tbh I definitely made the mistake of narrowing down my apps to companies that were definitely out of my reach for the first coop, so I’m trying to keep an open mind, apply wherever I can and see what I land haha
Oh that makes sense
you worked for a startup in the us and made a startup in san fran ahahaha
Im attending ghc in the fall so maybe I can get a few referrals or interviews from there?
im not at the same level 🤣
LOL my startup was a flop dw
Grace hopper conference
oh ok
It’s like the biggest conference in the world for women in tech
that sounds good
And it’s apparently supposed to be really great for networking ig? But I also know most companies there are looking for new grads so not sure how helpful it could be for me
expand ur abbreviations before use?
usually stuff like those they give you an email to send your resume too or something
u can also add the people on linkedin and send your resume there
Yah I think they have a database to put ur resume into and the success rate is pretty promising
