If you can get an offer at amazon, you can probably get an offer at other big-n if that’s what you’re after
Yep, it's amazon vancouver so the pay is a lot less.
bloomberg is also a great company to work for from what i've heard
I am honestly looking to just learn as much as possible at my first new grad company, then apply to like google/microsoft/bloomberg to rest/vest after 5/6 years.
if you get an interesting team there I would consider that over rippling potentially
interesting thanks for input. It's just too bad since these are new grads, the deadlines/timelines for the offers are so out of sync haha
i'm probably talking out my butt
but where are bloomberg and rippling located? since that'll might be something you wanna consider too
did you mean amazon or bloomberg?
bloomberg, sorry
bloomberg is NY (in person), rippling is seattle (hybrid)
out of the three cities do you lean towards one specifically? or are you ambivalent
Seattle -> NY -> SF
I don't mind the weather and closer to Canada for seattle.
but ultimately location is the least important to me compared to everything else
ya only issue is I gotta accept rippling before getting results on bloomberg sigh
You can ask your recruiter for more time
Have you negotiated your amazon offer with your rippling offer?
er, maybe you can't negotiate new grad offers actually nvm
ya you can't. As for Rippling they are wrapping up new grad in a week and a half
so I need to make a decision by then
I think i can ultimately work at rippling for a year or two then apply to amazon seattle if I rly wanted amazon, or any other faang. what do you think about that?
do you find rippling's product interesting?
Also, know that you can always reneg on rippling if they don't give you enough time to properly assess the bloomberg offer you might get
ya it's def valuable imo. It's like 50/50 they gonna be the next workday or crash hard imo
wish i knew their projected revenue for 2022
True, I can try that
Have you told your bloomberg recruiter that you have a timeline that's approaching quickly? They may be able to expedite a decision
tried that but apparently it won't matter if I do my interview early. For new grads they have like a set meeting in the future where they decide on all new grad offers. Unless they move that date, which is unlikely, then the day I know will be the same
I would take the next few days and figure out what product/team you find the most interesting, what city you'd like to live in (and if the tc they're offering you will let you live a comfortable life there) and how stable the companies you're looking at are (and what your risk tolerance is)
That's a shame
been trying to ask around haha, but rippling employees obviously biased, and it's a private company so not much public data
Hopefully you can get some other opinions here too
and amazon ppl online are so pip crazy it's like anti amazon bias lol
For sure, thanks for you input 🙂
and I'm sure you've seen it, but just in case you haven't here's their crunchbase: https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/rippling
You are overvaluing the Amazon brand. I would strike it out of the running based on everything you've shared. It sounds like you are most excited about Rippling. Since you have an idea of the Bloomberg offer, would you even take it over Rippling?
I think it would depend on the team.
