#Work Experience vs Masters in terms of Employability

Uh hmmm
I got into my MS without an research experience
Because it’s not a research masters lol
And I didn’t have any extracurriculars really, just a BS in CS and a year of work experience
I guess a year and a half lol
I mean just depends on what they ask for in terms of qualifications
Every school is different
I’m confident right now I could probably get into a masters at standford for CS
But the problem is I wanted to work , not just go back to school, so I had to find a masters that fit that requirement
Also it’s expensive as all hell
Nice campus tho
Very nice
Ah
Well my masters at Georgia tech is only 7k total
And online
Now I’m just advertising for the school lol
What does that mean
“Status”
Sorry but what is F-1
I’m fully American
So idk whatcha mean
Why can’t international students do online courses?
Oh ok
Well gotcha
Yeah you will have to look into it if you wanna go for a masters then
Idk much about your situation
The OMSCS? Isn’t that for people with non tech backgrounds hoping to break into the tech industry?
Hmmm I wouldn’t say so
It’s actually a pretty tough program so far
I would say there a good number of people that get in with non tech bachelors , but getting in the program is pretty easy
Getting through is not easy
Makes sense most engr schools r like that, I am considering applying sometime in the future. But I might just do a thesis masters idk yet.
Currently a new grad.
I’m doing it but I’m doing it while working
Damm do you have any free time left?
Yes lol
I am very good at time management
And it’s only 1 or 2 classes a semester
Also I’ve done much harder things in life than go to school and work at the same time lol
