Hi, I got an offer from a full remote internship. The offer was 50 an hour and 75 overtime where I live, but because I go to college in a different state and will be residing there, it’s now 35.50 an hour and 53$ overtime. Is there anything I can do to make them give me the 50$ offer?

I'm not super qualified to answer this but I think it's a yes and no- yes you can negotiate your pay although they may have only a certain amount to offer, and no you can't negotiate just based on the location adjustment. Afaik large companies have policies for that sort of thing, it's dumb. Take what I say with a grain of salt tho

That's a tough one. Companies don't really get any value out of internships so are unlikely to negotiate with you. You can definitely ask/point this out, maybe your recruiter/manager will be sympathetic and be able to do something, but unlikely.

One option kinda unethical depending on who you ask just use a vpn with a kill switch say you moved to your aunts house in the higher paying state

She said since the majority of the internship would be in the lesser paying state it’s that rate
