You must reduce glycemic response to help your liver. Your liver makes the chemicals to process some excess carbs into cholesterol or other bad fats. This is oxidizing and the stress on the organ of this can show up as the fats. Please simply try higher fiber appetizers in order to blunt glycemic response of your main meal. Also Intermittent fasting eating style can help. If you're hardcore, try keto?

@lusty matrix: when dieting, people have to figure out what works individually for them. I think 'paleo' as a narrative is inane, but some people find it's easier to stick to their diet when their stomachs are filled with protein and fat. The same goes for 'keto'
So, if it works for you, then keep at it. I don't recommend ultra low carb diets, though (keto). It may as well be called "The Brain Starvation Diet"

I had an overweight coworker who switched from pizza and donuts throughout the day to eating a bin of raw vegetables from 9-5. He dropped from 200 to 160 lbs
when i lost like ~100 pounds some years ago, i did a combination of intermittent fasting and keto. so paleo is probably fine if you enjoy it. but i think the most important thing was the counting of calories and macros. i don't do keto anymore and just make sure im keeping a nice balance within my calorie budget, but this naturally tends to be 50g carbs or less. no reason to burn out on any diet you don't enjoy, as you want to make a lifestyle change and not just a short-term one, i think

@lusty matrix: You're looking for something in the realm of normality. I think a small shift in your diet (cutting back on fatty meats, having a few more vegetables on your plate, having 1 portion of fruits & vegetables as a snack each day) paired with some light cardio will get you to where you want to be. You'll also be able to integrate these things into your regular day-to-day going forward.

Although I did hear that shrimp, while it has a ton of protein and very low fat and carbs in comparison, tends to be high in cholesterol so do keep that in mind
I personally tend to go 1/4 chickpeas, 1/4 kidney beans, 1/4 shrimp, and 1/4 chicken breast just to balance it out, fill the rest of the box with mixed veggies, and then fill soup cup with fruit. I gotta control my sweet tooth more though, because it's soo easy for me to just load up on desserts after all that

I just finished a single cardio working (stair machine: 1315 steps in 20 mins + additional cooldown, peak HR just under 180bpm). Despite the intensity, 20 mins is nothing, so I probably only burned something like 225 kcal.
If you can squeeze-in even a 15 min walk each evening, you'll be rewarding yourself with a few calories burned, and a little exercise for your circulatory and respiratory systems

I found that, when I was still doing my double cardio workouts (60m), I had to break the 5 min mark to get past the "I don't want to do this" threshold. Maybe find that threshold for yourself and see at what point you start feeling like, "ok, let me keep going for a bit."
You might find out you only have 2 mins of cardio in you, but you'll rapidly make progress if you do this every day (and add 15-30 seconds every day or two)

The resistance on a rowing machine is non-linear. Going from 120s to 115s on a 500m sprint will be noticeable

the salmon is overcooked, though (albumin is squeezing out)
I did rigorous calorie counting for a month. This helped me in 2 ways:
- I learned the protein/fat/carb content of everything I ate
- Since I weighed everything, I got a sense of volume vs. calories for different foods
It's hard to look at a bowl of corn flakes and know how many grams you have unless you've weighed it at least once. But then you will discover the volume of 1 serving greatly varies depending on whether you're eating the big flakes at the top of the box, or the crushed flakes at the bottom.
This is a distraction for you, though. You're just trying to lose a few pounds while in a totally normal weight range / body composition. As long as your conscious of your intake and do a little exercise, you're on a good path 
hmm yeah it's fully cooked but it was very tender and moist and flavorful (as opposed to some people's overcooked salmon that's very dry)
If you ever get a chance, try sous vide salmon (110F), then pan fry it skin side down to make the skin crispy. The fat and skin aren't going to do your diet any favours, but it's a small thing.

oh no after i started eating the crab my hands got dirty and i couldn't take pictures of the rest of the food

easier ones will pretty much require minimal strength and thoughts

Carbs aren't inherently bad. It's just that some people don't handle quick upticks in insulin release / find themselves better satiated with a high-protein, high-fat diet. Lots of people can manage good appetite control with a high-carb diet.

@unborn furnace: when I got strict about my diet, I did two things: I weighed all my food, and I recorded everything I ate. Eventually, once I knew how to gauge my intake, I stopped weighing things, but I continued with the log. It forced my to acknowledge everything I ate.
Not sure if this will help you, but it's what kept occult calories sneaking into my diet

It's hard to measure 1 lb a month of progress because it gets lost in daily fluctuations. So I spent an entire month not knowing if I was stalled or not, if I should change something, etc
the feedback loop is awful
also I'm still 15 lbs off from where I want to be, so 1 lb a month is not cutting it for me
I would weigh myself every day (at the same time) and just look at the trend. Some people don't like daily measurements because of the natural variance, but I preferred it because a weekly/monthly measurement would seem like a "milestone" to me, and I didn't want that pressure.
I did this in 2021 and applied a moving average to the curve to smooth-out the local variance. I was only interested in the trend.

@lusty matrix: I am a vegetarian today, but I used to eat chicken in bulk when I was actually fit. I would cook chicken skin-on, crisp the skin separately, then (mostly) share the crisped skin with my family (to avoid eating it myself).
