#Need resume review

welllllll
your bullets are solid on metrics (1m+ nodes 99.95% uptime, 70% bug reduction etc) those all land
but the resume reads like a list of everytthing youve ever done rather than a targeted pitch for a specific FAANG role
biggest thing holding this back: you've got 5 roles listed but the top one (Software Developer, 2021–present) is doing ALL the heavy lifting and the bottom 3 internships from 2018-2020 aren't adding anything a FAANG interviewer cares about in 2026. that space would be better used expanding your current role or adding a projects/open source section.
also 'software dev' as a tital is value for faang targeting
if your actual work is closer to Senior SDE or Staff-level scope (managing 13 microservices, cutting QA overhaed, owning architecture docs),\your positioning should reflect that. right now the title undersells the work underneath it.
skills section at the top is fine for ats but faang recruiters dont read skill lists
theyre gonna read impact stuff- i'd move that to the bottom or cut it out entirely and let the bullets speak
what level are you targeting? l4/l5/l6 changes what matters here as well
hows your linkedin positioned?
save ur linkedin profile as a .pdf and redact all ur personal info and lets see it
Should I just make up the title then?
Intermediate
Same as resume without the bullet points for the work experience
no dont make up the title, but the way you frame the scope matters
What is most relevant to FAANG interviewer in 2026 from my resume?
"software dev" is what HR puts on the offer letter
what you actually did is closer to "software engineer, platform" or "software engineer, infrastructure"
based on those bullets (payment engine, microservices, k8s, SOC 2)
for linkedin you can absolutely use a more specific title that reflects the work
SOC 2?
for L4 at FAANG the bar is "strong independent contributor who owns features end to end." your current resume actually overshoots that in some places (owning architecture, managing 13 microservices, cutting management overhead)- which sounds more like L5 scope. that's not a bad thing but it means your resume is sending mixed signals. a FAANG recruiter might either think you're overqualified for L4 or wonder why you're not targeting L5...
soc2 is a security and compliance audit- basically a third party comes in and verifies your company handles customer data properly
encryuption, access controls, logging, the whole thing
if you helped build the controls that passed that audit, thats a big deal for any company that handles snesitive data
fintech, healthcare, enterprise saas, on and on
faang cares about that stuff keep it on there
this is a game about manipulating words and stretching the truth to match job descriptions
gotta get creative without lying
where do I have that on my resume? r u referring to psd2?
Is it ok to change software developer to software engineer for first work experience then?
Thank you for so much feedback btw 🙂
lolol my bad i had 2 resumes up at once ignore that part psd2 is still solid though
fraud reduction by 42% using stripe api for regulatory compliance
thats the same category of wqork keep taht one for sure
yeah 100%. "Software Engineer" is the industry standard title "Software Developer" is the same job but reads more junior for some reason. if your offer letter says developer and you're worried about it, nobody's gonna verify the exact wording of your title. they verify dates and company. change it
if you want i could take a broader look at all your stuff- its what i do for work (just chill on discord to kill the work day/pass time)
what about the intern positions? developer or engineer?
same shit- software engineer intern reads better than software dev interne
its all the same work just cleaner positioning
change all of them
how do u mean
ya full stack engineer is a real title- change it
same logic as before engineer > dev
"full stack engineer intern" reads nice
@real jasper do i have any chances of getting an interview at faang based on my resume?
