#internship time/duration question

no, why would that be a red flag?
just seems odd because in january the next sem starts. and almost all internships are between sept-dec
maybe im over thinking
Because if they're listing it as work experience on their resume, it will look like they only held that job for 3 months, and that will affect their "average length of stay" metric that ATS is alleged to track.
EDIT: For this reason I keep my internship in a separate section of my resume.
"Just seems odd" does not equal red flag. A red flag is like a sign or something that suggests a problem. A warning in the figurative sense.
So I ask again like why would it be a red flag?
- The job is 4 months, as OP said
- Any recruiter or ATS system that unironically counts your internship tenures towards some metric that's supposed to indicate flight risk is so unbelievably stupid that you are doing yourself a disservice by accommodating that in your resume. Seriously... you don't want to work for someone that dumb
Of all the various ATS fear mongering ive seen over the years this one definitely takes the cake...
