#Need guidance on what to specialize on/study as a SWE graduate

hey, piggybacking on this post and bumping it up, in a similar situation. will be finishing my CS bachelors in a month now. I wish to put focused effort in a field which yields some monetary returns on a longer time horizon... AI seems like the obvious thing to do however i dont have any publications or research exp and the entry barrier for higher studies seems quite high.. Any other such fields experienced folks can comment on or how can I break through in AI/ML fields with a trad CS degree?
Devops + security is a good combo. Well paid, relatvely good job security. You could maybe combine part time devops work with cybersecurity master's.
WLB and culture depends on the company and the team, not on the role or skills. For pay, you could take a look at levels.fyi
Most CS related jobs pay well compared to average salaries, in most countries.
If you have one month until you finish and don't start a master's, then maybe start looking for a job. Learn how to write a CV, increase your interview skills, research companies and start applying.
The search process might reveal some skill gaps that you need to work on.
For AI related work, data engineer could be relevant role or a new role of AI engineer/developer seems to appear at some companies.
I would guess that cloud and project management is easier to learn on your own than security.
Which math are you concerned about? Cryptography?
In general, be good enough in math for a passing grade and have some areas where you are really good at.
Build up hands-on skills in parallel with studies.
